NHL 24 rookies: 2023 NHL Draft Lottery results impact
If you didn’t tune into the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery on ESPN, you missed out on a lot of excitement. The 2023 NHL Draft Lottery was held in Nashville to put an end to the debate on who is going to win the Connor Bedard Sweepstakes. The Anaheim Ducks had the best odds to win the lottery, but things didn’t pan out the way the odds suggested. Instead, the lottery hockey gods had other plans for where the generational talent in Connor Bedard would be heading. Connor Bedard’s new home is most likely going to be Chicago. With that being said, the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery is just the beginning of the rookies that will be headed into NHL 24.

For the most part, the 2023 NHL Draft order stayed the same. The only change was a massive change in the Chicago Blackhawks jumping from number 3 to number 1, the Ducks dropping from number 1 to number 2, and the Blue Jackets dropping from number 2 to number 3.
The consensus number 1 draft pick this year is Connor Bedard. The Consensus number 2 pick this year is Adam Fantilli. Connor Bedard will be playing in the NHL next season and Adam Fantilli should follow his lead. Both players are ready to make an impact on the franchise that drafts them. This also would mean that we are going to have some new faces in NHL 24 later on this year.
NHL 24 will be due out sometime in the fall to get hockey fans ready for the 2023-2024 NHL season. While we don’t know what players will be on what team just yet, we do know that whatever players are drafted this season will end up being in NHL 24 as a rookie. These rookie athletes may not receive the greatest rookie overall in the game, but they will make more of an impact to the franchise that meets the eye right away.
The one thing that seems 99.9% sure to happen is Connor Bedard coming to the Chicago Blackhawks to help jump start another Dynasty. The Blackhawks will be drafting first overall for just the second time in their history. The last time they selected first overall was in 2007 where they selected Patrick Kane and then three years later won the Stanley Cup in 2010. The rest is history as the Chicago Blackhawks built one of the best cores in the modern-day era and went on to win a total of three Stanley Cups in six seasons (2010, 2013, 2015).
If history is set to repeat itself, Connor Bedard and the rebuilding Blackhawks should be well on their way to success in the near future. I cannot wait to see this organization rise to success once again and seeing Bedard in a Blackhawks uniform is going to be amazing.
