Funko Fusion: Characters and franchises confirmed so far
The premiere trailer for Funko Fusion, the first-ever AAA game utilizing the Funko Pop licensing, was released last week. With it came a number of announced franchises, characters, and hopes for what’s to come. So, who will we be getting so far? Let’s take a look.
A total of 11 different franchises were on display with 25 characters among them. Those franchises were:
- He-Man – Skeletor, He-Man, Prince Adam
- Back to the Future- Marty McFly and Two Doc Brown versions
- Jurassic World – Chris Pratt, Bryce Howard, a T-Rex
- Child’s Play – Chucky Doll
- Shaun of the Dead – Shaun himself
- Frankenstein
- Umbrella Academy – Klaus, Luther, Alison, Number 5, Diego
- Thing- Macredy, Childs, Doc Cooper
- Battlestar – Starbuck, Apollo, Boomer
- Mummy- Evelyn
- Funko- One and only original Fred
Now, of course the opportunities are endless with the Funko Pop license. After all, there are over 8,300 Funko Pops right now so they won’t be running out any time soon.
There are, however, a number of options that gamers will be clamoring to see. Could we get tie-ins like Horizon or Gears of War? The real question is what kind of gameplay will it be with these licenses? The trailer shows all of these in one game. That’s a bit different than what we’ve seen with the LEGO games from the same creators which focused on games centered around one license at a time with Batman, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. Will the characters interact with other franchises or stay within their own “levels”? Will there be anything similar to LEGO Dimensions with a Funko Pop interactive toy for the game? Lots of things to find out.
Funko Fusion is developed by 1010Games, which is headed up by former Tt games Creative Director Arthur Parsons. We have reached out to the studio to get more information and will let you know what we hear.
