The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be arriving to your Nintendo Switch soon, but fans wonder if the sequel game will have DLC. Luckily, Nintendo has hinted at potential content that would be available on the official Nintendo store. From its release date to possible features on the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s DLC, here’s everything you need to know.

When is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom DLC coming out?

While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s official release date is confirmed for May 12, Nintendo has not directly expressed plans for future DLC or expansion passes yet. However, the Nintendo store website hints that ordering the game in advance will give you Nintendo gold coin points that can help buy additional games and DLC. If you’re planning to purchase the game, it’s currently available for pre-downloading on the Nintendo store for $69.99.

With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being released in early spring 2017, its two additional DLC packs had been released later in the following months: The Master Trials was released in the early summer and The Champion’s Ballad was released in early winter. Considering that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is being launched in late spring, the sequel game could have DLC as early as late August 2023, if it follows a similar timeline to The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild.

With The Master Trials and the Champion’s Ballad, players experienced narratives and features such as The Trial of the Sword, Hero’s Path Mode, Master Mode, Master Cycle Zero, and unique armor upgrades. Similarly, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s potential DLC could introduce new missions and exclusive cosmetic items.
