4. Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight is an honorable mention. Players can play this survival horror multiplayer on the Deck if they are willing to use the Proton experimental OS. Apparently, there was a ban on the servers that DBD was using making it impossible to play this game on the Deck normally. One thing we have to understand about the Steam Deck is that it is not a console; it is a processing computer. It has been hardwired to play games (thousands of them), but it doesn’t have the discernment to play every game that exists on Steam. In fact, no computer can play every game on the Steam library (for one reason or another). That is the number one factor that separates the PC from the console. The console is a small lake of compatible games, while the PC is an ocean of different programs that use different components. With that said, it is not impossible to play this on Steam Deck.

For Switch players though, it is as easy as downloading the game and booting it up.  Nintendo Life gives the port a 6 out of 10. That is the average review all the consoles are getting. I was never really into games where you had to play a defenseless citizen walking around with constant anxiety, but Dead By Daylight started the niche.

3. Fight Crab

I know what you are thinking? If Switch has Fight Crab and Steam Deck doesn’t then how is this a fair competition? I still consider Fight Crab the closest game the Switch is going to get to a boxing game with motion controls. That is sad. Not only does the Steam Deck have no motion controls, but it can’t promise that this game will work on the portable. The community hub has backed up that this game is not compatible at all (but it could be in the future).

If you like the idea of arming different crabs from all over the ocean with katanas and nunchuks and setting them loose to fight, this game is up your weird little alley. The fighting system is akin to moving around a tank and striking can feel like hitting an elevator button. At least you will get a laugh out of the game and an education about crabs around the world. Steam rated this game Very Positive, which accounts for the ridiculous factor. The Switch version gives me very sore arms when playing with motion controls.
