Nintendo Switch Online: Dynamite Headdy Cheat Codes for Sega
Dynamite Headdy was one of my favorite games back in the day. Created by some of the people that made the famous Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy was a platformer filled with exceptional power-ups, amazing pixel art, an obscenely bizarre story, and a wealth of stages.
My obscession with the game was what lead me to find out that the reason a lot of games from this era were so obscenely difficult is that developers did this on purpose with many North American releases because they were tired of people renting games from Blockbuster, beating them, returning them, and never taking interest in owning the game. So they purposely made games that were almost impossible to beat unless you had the game memorized.
So, while it may seem fortunate that this game has a bunch of interesting codes, I regret to inform you that they’re not going to make the game an easier. In fact, one of them is going to make it SO much harder.
And as always, remember, these codes are going to be for the Nintendo Switch version so the controls will be a little different than if you’re on the OG system.
One Hit Kill Mode
See? Told you one of them was gonna make the game harder.
- To activate this digital masochism, get to the screen where you can choose to start or go to options. Leave the cursor on start and press A, Y, Left, Right and then hold B. Do not let go. You’ll hear Headdy yell “Nice!” While holding down B hold down + and don’t let go of either until the opening cut scene.
Animation Test
- From the screen where you can choose to start or go to options, highlight options and press A, Y, Left, Right, B. Then press +.
- This will take you to a screen where you can check out all of Dynamite Headdy’s animation sequences (of which there are a ton. Left and right cycles through animations while holding down Y and hitting left or right switches to different heads.
Stage Select
- If you’ve never made it far in this game and want to get absolutely humiliated by the final boss you can go straight to it. Or to any stage for that matter. At the screen where you choose to either start the game or go to options, highlight Start Game and press A, Y, Left, Right, B and press start. This will take you to a menu where you can pick any world and stage.
