Nintendo Switch Online: Mega Man: The Wily Wars cheats for Sega Genesis

This is a bizarre addition to Nintendo Switch’s Sega Genesis collection. Essentially a remake of Mega Man 1 – 3 only with a new story loosely tying the games together it’s a really interesting part of the Mega Man history.

Plus, beating the three Mega Man games on one save file unlocks a series of stages called Wily’s Tower where you face off against Robot Masters based off characters from the famous Chinese novel “Journey to the West” which…alright.

Sadly, Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune worked on this game and as he’s an absolute sadist that hates fun, he made sure there were no cheat codes that make the game easier.

But, if you’re playing these games for the first time, a huge thing that can help you win against the power Robot Masters is knowing their weakness so, instead of codes, we’re going to bring up the weaknesses of all the bosses. Enjoy.

Mega Man 1

  • Bomb Man – Mega Buster but also weak to Fire Storm (from Fire Man)
  • Guts Man -Hyper Bombs (from Bomb Man)
  • Cut Man – Super Arm (from Guts Man) to throw cubes at him and then Mega Buster for the rest
  • Elec Man – Rolling Cutter (from Cut Man)
  • Ice Man – Thunder Beam (from Elec Man) (you thought it would be Fire Storm didn’t you?)
  • Fire Man – Ice Slasher (from Ice Man)

After you beat the Robot Masters use these on the bosses:

  • Rock Monster – Thunder Beam
  • Dark Mega Man – Thunder Beam
  • Bubble Machine – Super Arm and Mega Buster
  • First Stage of Dr. Wily – Fire Storm
  • Second Stage of Dr. Wily – Thunder Beam

Mega Man 2

  • Metal Man – Quick Boomerang (from Quick Man) and/or Mega Buster
  • Bubble Man – Metal Blade (from Metal Man)
  • Heat Man – Bubble Lead (from Bubble Man)
  • Wood Man – Atomic Fire (from Heat Man) (See Ice Man? That’s what weak to fire should be)
  • Air Man – Leaf Shield (from Wood Man)
  • Crash Man – Air Shooter (from Air Man)
  • Flash Man – Crash Bomber (from Crash Man)
  • Quick Man – Time Stopper (from Flash Man) then Crash Bomber (from Crash Man)

After you beat the Robot Masters use these on the bosses:

  • Mecha Dragon – Quick Boomerang
  • Picopico-Kun – Bubble Lead
  • Guts Tank – Quick Boomerang and/or Atomic Fire
  • Boobeam Trap – Crash Bomber
  • The Robot Masters Again (see above)
  • First Stage of Dr. Wily – Atomic Fire
  • Second Stage of Dr. Wily – Crash Bomber
  • Alien (you heard me) – Bubble Lead

Mega Man 3

  • Magnet Man – Mega Buster or Spark Shock (from Shock Man)
  • Hard Man (hehe) – Magnet Missle (from Magnet Man)
  • Top Man – Hard Knuckle (from Hard Man)
  • Shadow Man – Top Spin (from Top Man)
  • Spark Man – Shadow Blade (from Shadow Man)
  • Gemini Man – Mega Buster or Search Snake (from Snake Man)
  • Needle Man – Gemini Laser (from Gemini Man)
  • Snake Man – Needle Cannon (from Needle Man)

Wily’s Tower

After you beat Mega Man 1 – 3 you’ll unlock the Wily’s Tower mini game in which you face off against several unique bosses.

  • Buster Rod G – Rolling Cutter (from Cut Man), Air Shooter (from Air Man), or Hard Knuckle (from Hard Man)
  • Mega Water S – Ice Slasher (from Ice Man), Atomic Fire (from Heat Man), or Search Snake (from Snake Man)
  • Hyper Storm H – Hyper Bomb (from Bomb Man, Metal Blade (from Metal Man), or Gemini Laser (from Gemini Man)

As for the other bosses from Wily’s Tower:

  • Fire Snakey – Ice Slasher (from Ice Man), Air Shooter (from Air Man), or Hard Knuckle (from Hard Man)
  • Iron Ball – Thunder Beam (from Elec Man), Crash Bomber (from Crash Man), or Spark Shock (from Spark Man)
  • Buster Rod G (Second Time) – Rolling Cutter (from Cut Man), Leaf Shield (from Wood Man), Hard Knuckle (from Hard Man)
  • First Stage of Wily Machine – Thunder Beam (from Elec Man), Crash Bomber (from Crash Man), Spark Shock (from Shock Man)
  • Second Stage of Wily Machine – Hard Knuckle (from Hard Man). Seriously, it takes four hits.
  • Third Stage of Wily Machine – Mega Buster, Hyper Bomb (from Bomb Man), Thunder Beam (from Elec Man)
