NBA 2K24: Five stars who would make the perfect cover athlete

4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

If 2K really wants to go in the direction of a younger cover athlete for NBA 2K24, a clear choice would be Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA is only 24 years old and has only been in the NBA for 5 seasons. But he has gotten better with each year he has been in the league and by a very large margin.

In SGA’s rookie season with the Clippers, he only averaged 10.8 points per game and he played all 82 games. Ever since getting traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, his career has been buzzing.

During the 2022-2023 NBA season, SGA averaged a career best 31.4 points per game. It is clear that SGA is part of the next generation of great NBA stars. The Oklahoma City Thunder still have lots of building to do around SGA, but at least they are getting their feet wet with some NBA Play-In playoff games this year.  Despite finishing with a record of 40-42, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be a force to be reckoned with at some point in the near future. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be a part of their future for what appears to be a long time.

2K loves the up-and-coming young athletes. With SGA being one of the best young talents in the NBA, he should definitely be a consideration for cover athlete of NBA 2K24.
