The 2022-2023 NBA Regular Season has come to an end. and16-Teams are currently battling to in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. Once again, there were many players who made their mark and they all have one thing in common — they are all deserving of gracing the NBA 2K24 cover.

Devin Booker was announced as the NBA 2K23 cover athlete last year and before you know it, the NBA 2K24 cover athlete will be announced. It is always interesting to see who 2K Sports decided to put on the cover. The talent in the NBA is constantly growing each and every year, especially with more and more young talent emerging.

As we have seen from recent history, 2K isn’t afraid to put repeat cover athletes on the cover. Knowing that bit of information, 2K always has us on the edge of our seats as to if it is going to be a repeat athlete or someone completely new. Here are five potential cover athletes who deserve to be on the cover of NBA 2K24.

1. Lebron James

Lebron James is often argued as being the best player in NBA history, and he is going to be a massive favorite to be on the NBA 2K24 cover this year. Not because of all he has accomplished in his career, but for how special the 2022-2023 NBA Season was for him.

If you are a fan of sports, you definitely saw a “BREAKING NEWS” headline back in February. On February 7, 2023, Lebron James made massive history by breaking the NBA scoring record. This was a record that had been held for 34 years by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, with a NBA point total of 38,387. That record now belongs to future Hall of Famer Lebron James, who set the record with a 38-point performance in a 133-130 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Lebron James currently sits at 38,616 and counting. He doesn’t appear to be retiring any time soon either. With that being said, that total is just going to continue to rise and who knows what else he will accomplish before his career is officially over. Is NBA Championship number five in his future? Is cover athlete of NBA 2K24 in this future? No one can say for sure, but he definitely is a heavy favorite to be on the cover after a historic, record breaking season.
