Open Beta’s aren’t just a fun way to play video games earlier than their release date. They are also used to gather feedback from gamers to make sure that the developers can tweak any problems before a video game is released. Blizzard made their intentions very clear with both Diablo IV Betas, basically telling the Diablo community that the two Diablo IV Beta weekends are going to be a great way to gain feedback from the community. Well, Blizzard stood by everything they said, and have announced some major changes that are going to be taking effect when Diablo IV officially launches on June 6.

Dungeon and Cellar changes

One area of Diablo IV that Blizzard saw the most feedback was regarding Dungeons. Many gamers found themselves backtracking a lot, especially when it came to Dungeons. This can often lead to a poor gaming experience and thus, Blizzard wanted to make sure they touched on this issue first. Dungeons such as Caldera Gate, Defilied Catacombs, Derelict Lodge, Forbidden City, Hoarfrost Demise, Immortal Emanation, Kor Dragan Battacks, Maulwood, and Rimescar Caverns, have all been tweaked to reduce backtracking.

Dungeon Events were also something in the Diablo IV Beta that just seemed too rare for everyone’s liking. Previously, there was only a 10% chance that a Dungeon Event would initiate. Blizzard took in the feedback and will be changing the spawn rate of a Dungeon Event to a whopping 60%. Meaning you will now be six times more likely to come across some of these Events.

Another thing that gamers noticed when playing the Diablo IV Beta was that some of the Dungeon Objectives were asking a bit too much from gamers to do. Changes will be made to Dungeon Objectives in order to make completing them at a better rate, while making it more fun for gamers to conquer. Blizzard stated that “We hope that providing bonuses, such as the increase to mobility while carrying certain objective items, will streamline and vary the experience of completing objectives. This adjustment is merely a starting point, and we intend to extend this philosophy to keys in a future update.”

Cellars also will be receiving a bit of housekeeping as well, but not too many differences. When you go ahead and complete a Cellar, you will always be rewarded for your efforts with a chest. Cellars will also feature some bug fixes, and an increased Dungeon Event spawning rate similar to those seen with Dungeon Events.
