Minecraft Legends: Is Deluxe Edition worth buying?
It is almost time to jump into the world of Minecraft. The latest spin-off Minecraft Legends is set to release this week. If you plan on pre-ordering a copy of the game, you still have time, but your time is quickly running out. Don’t worry, if you don’t get around to pre-ordering the game no big deal. You will still be able to purchase a copy on your desired platform starting on April 18.
Unfortunately, Minecraft Legends will not be free to play. If you are looking to purchase Mojang’s latest video game, it is going to run you $39.99 for the Standard Edition. Unless you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, in which case you can download it as part of your monthly subscription. That being said, there is a more expensive version in the Deluxe Edition for $49.99. Whichever edition you decide to purchase, it will still be cheaper than your standard video game.
The Standard Edition of Minecraft Legends is just your base game. No additional contents are included, just everything you need to get started to begin your next Minecraft adventure. However, if you want to spice things up a little bit and go with the Deluxe Edition to add a bit more flavor to your experience, you can do that as well.
Is the Minecraft Legends Deluxe Edition worth buying?
The Deluxe Edition includes the base game along with the CreatFor Pack, Starter Pack and a 14-day free trial to Xbox Game Pass. The Deluxe Skin pack comes with one skin, four mount skins, and an additional mount skin when it becomes available.
The Deluxe Skin pack on its own normally costs $14.99. So, if this is something that you plan on purchasing at some point anyways, you might as well spend the extra $10 to get the Deluxe Edition of Minecraft Legends. In theory, you are saving $5 in the long run. The benefits don’t stop there.
You will also be getting a Starter Pack that includes 700 Minecoins, a Villains skin pack, and a Heroes skin pack. If that wasn’t enough, you will also be getting a 14-day free trial for Xbox Game Pass that you can use to enjoy a huge library of Xbox games. If you don’t already own the Xbox Game Pass, the 14-day trial might just hook you into their service for good. Once you have Xbox Game Pass, it is hard to get rid of it. That is if you own an Xbox platform. This was a great marketing move by Mojang knowing that Minecraft Legends is going to be a day one release on the Xbox Game Pass. The more gamers they can get to sign up for the Xbox Game Pass, the more gamers that will most likely download their game.
If you like to have added cosmetics to your gaming experience and the ability to customize your character in different cosmetics, maybe you see value in purchasing the Deluxe Edition of Minecraft Legends for $49.99. If none of the Deluxe Edition contents float your boat, then you can just stay with the $39.99 Standard Edition and be happy with that. If you are looking to have an answer to the question of is the Deluxe Edition of Minecraft Legends worth it, all you really need to ask yourself is, is the Creator Pack something that I plan to have in my collection? If you answer yes, the Deluxe Edition is the route to take. If the answer is no, the Standard Edition is more your speed.
