Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is, well, the mobile version of Activision’s blockbuster battle royale game. It allows you to drop into the chaotic warzone of Verdansk and battle against 120 other players — all on your mobile device.

Last year, Activision announced that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will launch on Android and iOS in 2023. We still don’t have an exact date, but right now it’s available to play in Limited Release. This is basically a work-in-progress version of the game available in limited parts of the world.

Right now, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is only available in Australia, Chile, Norway, and Sweden. Unfortunately, what this means is that those in North America — like the United States and Canada — can not officially play the game. However, you can access it unofficially.

If you’re absolutely dying to play Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile right now and live in the U.S. or Canada, then you can do so but there are a few hoops you’ll have to jump through.

Regardless of whether you’re playing on iOS or Android, you’ll first need to download a VPN. Because Warzone Mobile is only available in limited countries, the VPN is used to mask where you’re actually playing from. Once you download the VPN, you’ll want to connect to a server from one of the countries where Warzone Mobile is currently available.

You’ll then need to create a separate Google or Apple Store account, depending on which device you’re playing on. Once you create your new account, open the digital storefront and download Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Once you do that, you can start playing.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been available in limited release since last year. It only recently expanded to Chile, Norway and Sweden in March of this year. Given that it’s still relatively closed, it might be a few months before the game officially arrives in the U.S. and Canada.
