AI tries to predict The Elder Scrolls 6’s release date
We’re all anxious for the release of The Elder Scrolls 6, but no-one knows when it’s likely to come out. So we asked an AI tool instead. Here’s what it had to say.
The Elder Scrolls 6, the upcoming role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios, is set to be the sixth installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise. Its most recent release, outside of Elder Scrolls Online’s frequent updates, was Skyrim back in 2011. And while Skyrim still holds a special place in the hearts of us all, we’re all a bit tired of seeing it remasters and ported over to newer consoles.
Really, what we’re all itching for is The Elder Scrolls 6, but news surrounding the new game has been sparse. During E3 2018, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed that the game will take place in Tamriel, the fictional continent that serves as the setting for all Elder Scrolls games. However, he did not reveal any further details about the specific location.
It’s likely that we won’t hear much on The Elder Scrolls 6 until after Starfield has its time in the sun, Bethesda’s new IP set to launch later this year.
But, naturally, we’re curious as to whether anything relating to a release date can be determined. So we put the question to ChatGPT, asking an AI whether or not it can predict the game’s release date. Here’s what we found out.
AI tries to predict The Elder Scrolls 6’s release date
“Tries” is the optimal word here. When asked to predict the release date of The Elder Scrolls 6, the AI tool said:
“As of my knowledge cutoff of September 2021, Bethesda Game Studios has not officially announced a release date for The Elder Scrolls 6. The game is still in development, and it is unclear when it will be completed and released.”
Of course, we know this. But it’s interesting to see the tool unable to pull much information past 2021. It went on to say, “It is possible that Bethesda will provide more information about the game’s release date in the future, so I would suggest keeping an eye on their official channels for any updates.”
So, the AI tried and failed to offer any major insight, but that’s perhaps to be expected. Without access to insider information made public, there’s no way an AI could have that sort of knowledge. As it said, we’ll just have to wait and see what Bethesda has in store for us further down the line.
