We’d love to see future Resident Evil adaptations include more of the games’ original cast of characters, be it in movies or TV. Who better to feature in a roster of characters than everyone’s favorite federal agent, Leon S. Kennedy. Here are five actors we think could be a shoo-in for the role.

There’s no telling when the next Resident Evil movie or TV adaptation could come around. The ones we’ve seen so far have been… interesting, at best. Famously, Paul W. S. Anderson’s film series saw original character Alice take center stage. Alice’s battles against the Umbrella Corporation and zombie apocalypse eventually brought her into contact with some familiar faces.

We met Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and Carlos Oliveira (Oded Fehr) in Resident Evil: Extinction, and Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) in Resident Evil: Afterlife. Eventually, thanks to Resident Evil: Retribution, we even had a brief meeting with of Leon S. Kennedy, played by Johann Urb.

In the more recent Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021), Canadian actor Avan Jogia took a shot at portraying a young Leon during the events of Resident Evil 2. But while each of these movies has their own quirks and merits, and arguably just as many downfalls, there’s certainly room for a more committed approach to a Resident Evil adaptation. And with the hype train of video game-inspired shows and movies at full speed, there’s no better time to try.

Should it happen, then we hope Leon S. Kennedy is part of the discussion. Here are five actors who we think could be worthy of taking up the mantle.
