EA Sports PGA Tour will be out soon and will include all four major championships including the beloved Masters Tournament, which will grace the game’s cover once again. Golf courses are the heart and soul of golf and are typically one of the biggest talking points in the sport.

They provide history, tradition, challenge, aesthetics, etc. There aren’t many sports where the venue you’re playing at truly has an effect on your game quite like in golf. The designers of these courses want to test the golfer, especially those on the PGA Tour. Some are more forgiving but most want to bring a challenge and several legendary designers built reputations for creating tracks like those.

And so the majesty of golf courses seems to be a huge point of emphasis for the team at EA Sports, as they’ve gathered some of the world’s most iconic courses to accompany courses like Augusta National, St. Andrews, and Pebble Beach. All 28 of the real-world courses in EA Sports PGA Tour have their own signature holes that stand out and it’s going to be interesting to see how they all play in this latest installment of the longtime golf series.

In this article, we’re going to keep it simple and give you three holes that will be exciting to play in the game. There are quite a few terrific holes but these are just a few great ones to sort of whet the appetite so the speak. For this shortlist, we’ll focus on the new courses in the game with the exception of one of them. Let’s tee it up, shall we?

Augusta National -13th hole

Will get this familiar hole out of the way. Although Augusta has been in EA Sports PGA Tour games in the past this is the first time we’ve seen it in 10 years so it can feel like a fresh new experience again, especially on these new generation consoles.

But one of the most iconic holes in all of golf is the 13th at Augusta. It’s a par-5 so there’s a chance you can reach the green in two which is always a really fun prospect. Frankly, all of the holes at Amen Corner are great but the 13th known as “Azalea” may be the best and the most fun.

Teeth of the Dog – 5th hole

One of the new entries to the EA Sports PGA Tour series, Teeth of the Dog (Casa de Campo) is a beautiful tropical course over in the Dominican Republic. Designed by the legendary Pete Dye (co-creator of TPC Sawgrass along with his wife Alice), it’s truly one of the best designs. In fact, he even said once that it’s his favorite design, and for good reason.

One of the holes that truly pops out and is probably the most photographed is the par-3 fifth hole where you hit your tee shot over the ocean and onto an island green. As you reach the putting surface, get ready to soak in the breathtaking view of the ocean’s horizon. Any par-3 you shoot over a body of water with a gorgeous view is always fun.

Tara Iti – 17th hole

Another beautiful hole at a beautiful course, Tara Iti is still a relatively new place but it has already made its way into top 100 golf course lists. Designed by Coore & Crenshaw, this course offers plenty of sand dunes and some solid ocean views as well.

There are many great holes here but probably the best and most picturesque is the 17th hole par-3. What will make this hole a lot of fun to tackle in EA Sports PGA Tour is that it’s a short one, which will make you judge your power off the tee but also makes things a little easier. And then, you have plenty of sand on the sides of the green just waiting to gobble your ball up. So the combination of both ease and difficulty is what’s going to make this beauty good fun, not to mention the view here as well.
