At the time of this writing, there is now less than a week before the Nintendo 3DS eShop closes on March 27th, 2023 so hopefully, this finds you before then. Since time is limited, we’re going to cut to the chase and talk about affordable games you need to snag on the 3DS. And since I say “affordable” know that that means there won’t be any 3DS Pokemon games on here because holy hell why are they still so expensive?

So this list is going to be covering games under the $40 price tag that most Nintendo titles are stuck at. But don’t worry, there are some absolute treasures.

Anyways, to quote Pedro Pascal’s best line ever, “Here…a we go.”

Oh, and please note that this list is in no particular order with the exception of final game mentioned which you NEED TO HAVE. But I want you to have ALL of these.

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove – $4.49

This is Shovel Knight and all the additional DLC letting you play as the other three knights as well. It’s basically four different games as Shovel Knight, Plague Knight, Specter Knight, and King Knight all play completely different, have their own stages, and their own stories. You’re getting four fantastic platformers for the price of a burger. That ain’t bad.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix – $29.99

Sure it’s one of the pricier games on this list but it’s so absolutely worth it. Watching gameplay does not do it justice. If you’re on the fence, there’s a free demo but I guarantee you’ll be hooked.

Rhythm Heave Megamix is a game similar to Warioware where you play through a series of short, bizarre stages, but the catch is all of them involve you keeping a tight rhythm. Maybe it’s the former drummer in me but this game makes you never want to put it down.
