We can finally say that the Resident Evil 4 Remake is less than a week away from release! Whether you have pre-ordered the game, plan on purchasing the remake the day it releases on March 24, or plan on purchasing the game at a later date, I highly doubt you will end up disappointed. Early reviews have been scouring the internet and they are nothing short of perfection, with many reviews giving out 10/10s.

The hype around the Resident Evil 4 Remake has been loud and proud since it was first announced back in June 2022. If you are excited just as much as everyone else is, you may want to pre-load the Resident Evil 4 Remake so that you don’t have to worry about downloading it on March 24. By pre-loading the RE4 Remake, you will gain access to the game even quicker by bypassing the download come the day of release.

Pre-load times for every platform

  • PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4: March 23
  • Xbox Series X|S: Available NOW
  • PC: No information released

If you plan on purchasing the Resident Evil 4 Remake for either PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4, you will be able to pre-load the game starting on March 23. A 24-hour time slot is more than enough time, since once it is downloaded, you can’t play it anyways until it officially releases.

If you are playing on an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, good news for you, you can start pre-loading the RE4 Remake as soon as you finish reading this article. That’s right. Xbox gamers can already start downloading the game generously in advance.

For PC players, it is a shame to say that there has not been any information on when a pre-load date can be expected to take place. At this point, it is probably safe to assume that it will be the same as PlayStation consoles. Since it hasn’t been announced yet, March 23 seems like a reasonable date for PC gamers to pre-load the RE4 Remake. If it was to happen any sooner, it would have been announced by now.

Pre-load file size

Now that you know when exactly you can pre-load the Resident Evil 4 Remake, the next thing you have to make sure is that you have enough space to download the game. Being a much more updated video game than the original, we know that the file size is going to be rather large.

It has been confirmed that the Xbox Series X|S file size is going to be 67.18 GB. As far as PlayStation and PC users go, there is nothing confirmed as of writing. However, the file sizes should not be too far off by any means. If you are using PlayStation or PC, expect anywhere from 65 GB+.

Even talking about the pre-load makes for exciting conversation. The hours, minutes, and seconds are passing by before you continue one of Capcom’s legendary journeys once again. If you plan on buying the Resident Evil 4 Remake, you might as well save yourself a lot of extra time by just pre-loading the full game.
