Cities: Skylines 2 release date, gameplay, much more
Have you ever wanted to create your very own city from the ground up? Have you ever wanted to run your own city? Even if you answered no to both of those questions, you will still have the opportunity to do so in Cities: Skylines 2. Cities: Skylines 2 is the sequel to the hit Cities: Skylines which was released back on March 10, 2015. Cities: Skylines got tremendous reviews as the game does a great job at showcasing a simulation as to what it would be like to create a city from basically scratch.
When is the release date for Cities: Skylines 2?
The Announcement Trailer was released on YouTube earlier in the week giving us a glimpse as to what we should expect from the sequel. At the end of the Announcement Trailer, we got a tease as to when we can expect a release date. While there was no exact release date, we did get a “Coming 2023” release date. This gives us a better idea of expecting the video game this year, but a little worrisome knowing that release dates that aren’t specific can sometimes lead to delayed into the next year. I am sure that more on the exact release date will be released once more information on the game is available.
Gameplay Expectations
The gameplay will be very similar to the original game but will be upgraded and updated of course. However, the overall concept will be the same, build and manage your city without limitations. One of the biggest upgrades to the gameplay will be the fully realized transport and economy systems. The official Steam page states that Cities: Skylines 2 “will evolve and react to your decisions. A dynamic and ever-changing world that is both challenging and rewarding. Use your creativity and strategic planning skills to grow your city into a thriving metropolis that will attract businesses, residents, and tourists alike. From residential neighborhoods to bustling downtowns, the possibilities are endless. Navigate through the complexities of running a city and keep up with the needs and demands of your citizens.”
It appears that from the little teaser of information we have on the game, Cities: Skylines 2 will definitely feature a lot of change. This change will also, in turn, keep the same concept of the video game the same. Cities: Skylines was one of the best-selling management games of the past decade. One thing in the video game industry is for sure, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
If you plan on playing Cities: Skylines 2 when it comes out later this year, you can Wishlist the game on Steam as of today. Cities: Skylines 2 will also be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Are you excited to take this next step in the Cities: Skylines universe?
