Team Fortress 2 receiving massive update this Summer
Team Fortress 2 is one of the most popular first person, multiplayer shooters of all time. Released back in 2007, Team Fortress 2 got incredibly great feedback from the community. The ratings on the video game were great, the concept was great, and gamers just couldn’t get enough of the game. Over the years, just like any games, Team Fortress 2 died down a bit. There have been many smaller updates made each year, but nothing that is too out of the ordinary.
Just recently announced on the official TF2 blog was an announcement stating that they are planning on a “full-on update-sized update” scheduled for this Summer. This will include new items, maps, taunts, unusual effects, war paints, and a whole lot more.
This news comes as quite a surprise as I mentioned before that the game has died down quite a bit over the years. This appears to be an attempt from Valve Corporation to try and revive one of their most successful games of all time 16 years later.
The last major update that Team Fortress 2 received was back in 2017. The “Jungle” update added new maps and tons of new content similarly to the update we can expect to get over the Summer this year.
The TF2 blog post wasn’t long by any means, but also states that if you are a Steam Workshop creator, they are looking for you to help them out. If you create content via the Steam Workshop, you can help the TF2 team out by creating and submitting you work to the Steam Workshop by May 1. Any submissions submitted by then will be considered for the major 2023 Summer update.
If you are unaware as to what exactly the TF2 team is looking for in regards to submissions, it can be anything you like. Right now, the theme and title of the overall update has yet to be announced. Maybe some of your submissions can help influence what the theme of the update will be and potentially even see your hard work even be featured in the game this Summer.
If you used to play Team Fortress 2 a lot back in the day, now may be a great time to get back into the fight. Any predictions as to what the theme of the update may be?
