The next installment of The Crew racing franchise has been announced by Ubisoft with The Crew Motorfest. Coinciding with today’s announcement was the start of the Insider Program, a closed test that will provide the development team with important player feedback to ensure an optimal experience at launch.

The Insider Program will be split into different phases with the first phase limited to PC. This is to allow for quick iterations. However, during the closed test will open up to consoles during the final phases. You can already sign up for your console of choice and hope for an invite when they open up.

You’ll be racing through the Hawaiian island of Oahu and drifting through volcanoes, rain forests or plain old curvy mountain roads. Similar to The Crew 2, Motorfest will have tailored races, special themed challenges and other special events. The synopsis reads:

"“At every corner of the island, the festival offers infinite opportunities for pure fun, all forms of driving challenges, and invites them to explore incredible landscapes: from big city streets to volcano slopes, lush rainforests, idyllic beaches… They are free to follow the roads or forge their own path!”"

No other information on release date is available yet, but the game will release on both generation PlayStation and Xbox platforms, along with PC and Amazon gaming. You can check out the teaser trailer above as well as the behind the scenes trailer below

To date, there have been two games released in The Crew franchise. The series debuted in 2016, introducing a persistent open world environment for free-roaming across a scaled-down recreation of the United States. The game featured a single-player campaign and plenty of multiplayer options. A sequel was released in 2018 featuring many of the same gameplay experiences. One of the key things with The Crew is the requirement to be played online as it very heavily focuses on multiplayer, hence the name.
