6. Evoland 1 & 2

Every indie company would die for a chance to create their own Zelda likeness. Evoland takes this one step further and combines everything we love about RPG culture into a love letter to Zelda. Graphical art styles change from 1990s Gameboy to early 2000s PS2. The fighting ranges from hack and slash mechanics, turn based RPG, card collecting, to Diablo point and clicks. This game does not take itself too seriously with the story, but any adventure RPG purist would be foolish not to give this a try.

5. Layton: Curious Village and Layton: Diabolical Box in HD

Puzzle solving and mobile gaming walk hand-in-hand so it is only natural for the Google Play Pass to gank a game that was popular on the Nintendo DS. Professor Layton is back to solve another adorable crime and he needs us to solve a myriad of puzzles and mazes to do it. You don’t have to go to eBay to buy a dusty copy of this DS game.

 4. Portal Knights

Any simpleton can get on the Minecraft wagon, but those who discovered Portal Knights were equally as blessed. Portal Knights is a resource builder game in an open world. It is much prettier in terms of clean graphics and character models. While you are building weapons, structures, and work benches you can get into fights that are reminiscent of Zelda’s Ocarina of Time.
