Remakes seem to be a popular occurrence in the video game industry lately. If done correctly, you can get a masterpiece of an all-time classic. If done poorly, you can get a lot of angry gamers who make you wonder why you even took the time out to try and recreate a classic in the first place. Depending on the franchise or the game, it can be a huge risk. However, it seems like more and more remakes have come out over the past handful of years and there are even some confirmed for the near future. One remake on the way in just a few weeks is Dead Space, which is actually scheduled to be released on January 27, 2023.

Dead Space is often argued to be one of the greatest video games of all time, specifically for how it revolutionized the Survival Horror genre. While Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 weren’t quite as loved as the original Dead Space, the franchise has become a fan favorite for many reasons.  If you never played the original, or want to re-experience the horror with improved graphics and gameplay, here’s what you should know about he upcoming Dead Space remake.

Changes you can expect

The first thing that you will notice with the Dead Space Remake is the visuals are absolutely stunning. Obviously, this is something that you can expect with remakes, but the Dead Space Remake is made using the Frostbite Engine. Visuals will see a huge upgrade and they very well should, given how powerful the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are.

Another main focus point that EA Motive has decided to make very clear is the fact that there will be no multiplayer or microtransactions. Microtransactions have been at the center of negative conversations in the recent past. The most famous controversy started with Star Wars Battlefront II. EA Motive has decided to stick with the focus on single player and make sure that no one has to worry about paying extra to get an advantage in the game.

The additional beauty that is going to come out of this Dead Space Remake is that there are going to be a lot of changes for the better. This was a great opportunity for EA Motive to fix many issues that people complained about with the original Dead Space and that is exactly what they have done.

As you restart your journey with lead character Isaac Clarke, one major change you will notice is that he will have a voice! Isaac Clarke didn’t have a voice actor in the original Dead Space, but in Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 he was voiced by the very talented Gunner Wright. Gunner Wright will once again reprise his role and give Isaac Clarke a voice once again.
