Target’s Black Friday Xbox Series S could be the best deal of the holidays

We’re always on the hunt for good gaming deals and if you’re in the market for a new console, then Target has a really amazing offer going right now. Microsoft and its retail partners have already knocked $50 off the Xbox Series S this year, bringing its cost down to just $249.99. Target is sweetening the deal by throwing in an extra $50 gift card with your purchase, effectively costing you just $200 for this next-gen console. And if you purchase it with a Target RedCard, you’ll save an additional five percent (or $10) on your purchase.

So with the standard discount, the gift card and the five percent off, you’re looking at an Xbox Series S for just $190. I mean, it’s going to be very hard to beat that.

While the Xbox Series S is admittedly less powerful than the Series X, the affordability (and availability) makes it a very attractive purchase this holiday season. You’ll still be able to play all next-gen games, including easy access to Xbox Game Pass (which is already the best deal in gaming).

The Xbox Series X is undoubtedly the better console, but you’re looking at $499 versus $190. And the PlayStation 5? Well, good luck finding one this year.

If you’re a gamer on a budget and interested in playing Xbox exclusives like Red Fall, Starfield and the new Forza Motorsport — plus any other new releases that may come next year — then the Xbox Series S is definitely the way to go.
