MultiVersus: DC’s Black Adam strikes in new gameplay trailer
After a brief delay, DC’s Black Adam has arrived in MultiVersus. The Thunder King joins the ever-growing roster of Warner Bros. characters featured in the smash hit platform fighter.
With his arrival, we finally get to see Black Adam in action. We already knew he is a Bruiser character with the ability to shock enemies and electrify allies, but now we get to see him actually square off against others in combat. Check out his move set in the video below.
Black Adam’s abilities feature thunder and lightning attacks that shock his opponents, an electromagnetic forcefield that blocks enemy projects, and a flying ability for aerial combat. At around the 0:24 second mark, we can see how Black Adam’s flying ability provides him with some off-stage versatility as he’s able to knock out an opponent and fly back up to safety.
Although Black Adam’s arrival coincides with the theatrical release of the recent film, which starred Dwayne Johnson, he’s more inspired by his comic book origins in MultiVersus.
Black Adam is one of three DC heroes featured in MultiVersus. He joins Wonder Woman and longtime rival Superman. In fact, the trailer even features an extended segment featuring combat between the two, and it’s pretty darn awesome. It’s also a nod to the recent film, which featured a cameo from Henry Cavill who also announced he’ll be returning as the Man of Steel in upcoming films.
Today’s update also marks the arrival of the new Arcade Mode. In this mode, which features three difficulty levels, you can play solo or with a friend to take on a gauntlet of A.I. controlled enemies. Along the way, you can complete unique quests and earn rewards.
MultiVersus is free-to-play and features team-based 2v2 combat. The roster features iconic characters from various Warner Bros. properties, including DC (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn), Scooby-Doo (Shaggy and Velma), Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil), Game of Thrones (Arya Stark) and Tom and Jerry (Tom & Jerry). The game has also added multiple characters in recent weeks, such as LeBrom James from Space Jam: A New Legacy, Gizmo and Stripe from Gremlins and Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith from the hit animated series Rick and Morty. Which Warner Bros. character do you want to see join the fray next?
