Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: How to unlock Orion Camo

Every year Call of Duty offers players the chance to earn camos for each of their weapons. The more weapons that you are able to unlock all the camos on, the nicer and rarer the camos become. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is no different and does offer a handful of camos to unlock, along with a secret rare camo that you get for completing all camo challenges for each individual weapon.

Basic Camos

One of the biggest things that people like to try and unlock in Call of Duty each and every year are the camos. On the flip side, there are usually a lot of complaints that go along with the camos in regards to how hard some of them may be to acquire. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has four basic camos for each weapon. If you are using a melee or a launcher, there will only be one basic camos.

The four basic camos you can unlock for each weapon are Scales, Desert Hybrid, Dark Leaves, and Urban Renewal. If you are worried about some of these challenges being too difficult, they are actually pretty simple to complete and won’t take up too much of your time.

Completionist Camos

Once you are finished getting all of the Basic Camos on your specific weapon, you can start to work towards Completionist Camos. The Completionist Camos have a total of four camos to try and unlock: Gold Camo, Platinum Camo, Polyatomic Camo, and the rarest of them all, the Orion Camo.

Getting the Gold Camo will require you to complete a few challenges once all the Basic Camos are complete. Once you have the Gold Camo unlocked, you won’t unlock challenges to acquire the Platinum Camo. In order to acquire the Platinum Camo, you will first have to acquire Gold Camo on every weapon in a specific category. For example, in order to unlock the Platinum Camo for Assault Rifles, you will need to unlock Gold Camo on every Assault Rifle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Then once completed, you will have to complete all the Platinum Camos before you can officially start using the Platinum Camo.

Next up on the list of camos would be the Polyatomic Camo. The Polyatomic Camo is going to take a little bit of a grind to acquire, but super satisfying once you do acquire it. In order to unlock the Polyatomic Camo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you are going to have to get Platinum Camo on all 51 weapons in the game. There are challenges that go with the Polyatomic Camo that you will have to complete before officially unlocking the camo, but well worth it if you want to get one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s rarest camos.

Finally, the moment you all have been waiting for, the beloved Orion Camo. The Orion Camo is the cream of the crop camo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and is automatically unlocked when you complete all Polyatomic Camo challenges on all 51 weapons. There are no further challenges that you would have to complete in order to unlock the Orion Camo. Just get Polyatomic Camo on all 51 weapons and you will unlock the highest tier camo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Unlocking camos can be a huge commitment and will take tons of your time to actually complete. However, as you work towards unlocking camos, you are also leveling up along the way. That means you aren’t wasting any of your time by trying to unlock camos. The purpose of multiplayer is to level up and try to get to max level and you are subconsciously doing that by trying to complete camo challenges. Plus, there is nothing more satisfying than showing off the camos that you earned while you dominate the opposition.
