One of the great things about Xbox Game Pass is the size of its library and the access to the sheer number of unique games. In addition to the tentpole first-party Xbox titles like Halo and Forza and such, the library offers access to hundreds of intriguing indie titles. It’s an opportunity to play games you may not have otherwise considered. And it’s why I love Xbox Game Pass.

This year, Humble Games is joining forces with Xbox Game Pass to make seven upcoming indie games from their portfolio available on the subscription service on Day One. One of the games, Midnight Flight Express, is already available. But throughout the remainder of 2022, Xbox Game Pass members can look forward to playing Moonscars, Ghost Song, Infinite Guitars, Coral Island, Prodecus and SIGNALIS. Here’s a quick look at each of the games.

Midnight Flight Express is an action title with what feels like an ’80s action movie plot:

"You’re Babyface, a former member of the criminal underworld lured back into “the life” by a mysterious AI drone. Your mission against impossible odds: Fight your way across the city before sunrise, and prevent a citywide criminal takeover together."

What makes Midnight Flight Express standout is its combat which is described as a “hyper-kinetic brawling ballet.” While it has the look of an old-school brawler, combat is fluid and visceral thanks to mo-cap animation. It’s also got a bit more complexity to the combat thanks to customizable skills and a rather robust skill tree.

Next. Most anticipated Xbox, PlayStation and Switch games still to come in 2022. dark

Coming on September 27, 2022 is Moonscars, a 2D slasher-platformer with skill-based combat inspired by Souls-like games. Just in time for Halloween, SIGNALIS, a classic survival-horror, arrives on October 27, 2022. Shortly after, Ghost Song, a 2D atmospheric and mysterious metroidvania-style game, will come on November 3. Other games launching in 2022 on Xbox Game Pass but don’t yet have dates are Infinite Guitars, a rhythm RPG; Coral Island, a re-imagined farm sim; and Prodeus, a first-person shooter where old-school vibes meet current-gen tech.
