New York Giants (75 OVR, 68 OFF, 74 DEF, 82 ST)

The New York Giants are the second worst-rated team in Madden 23. The Giants have been an absolute train wreck of a franchise since beating the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. They’ve only had one season in the past decade where they’ve finished with an above-.500 record. So yeah, I think it’s time you step in and right the ship.

The Giants come into Madden 23 with an atrocious 68 Offense Team rating. Personally, drafting for offense is my favorite part of a rebuilt. The Giants do have some young weapons on offense, especially at wide receiver with Kadarius Toney and  Darius Slayton. But they also have some big question marks. And you’ll be forced to make some tough decisions.

For starters, Saquon Barkley is the team’s best-rated player with an 86 overall (92 Speed, 93 Acceleration, 96 Agility, 83 Truck, 90 Juke). But we all know Barkley’s history with injuries and in Madden 23 he’s got an 81 Injury rating. After the Giants exercised Barkley’s fifth-year rookie option, you’ll be tasked with a difficult choice at the end of the season. Do you re-sign the 25-year-old running back? Or do you move on and look elsewhere?

Beyond running back, another big hole on offense is quarterback. Daniel Jones is in the final year of his rookie contract and the Giants declined his fifth-year option. He’s rated a lackluster 70 overall in Madden 23. The decision here is a simple one.

The Giants have a decent offensive line in Madden 23 with Evan Neal (77 OVR), Andrew Thomas (76 OVR) and Mark Glowinski (76 OVR). It can be improved upon but it’s a pressing need.

The defense isn’t too bad either. Leading the way is RE Leonard Williams (83 OVR), cornerback Adoree Jackson (82 OVR), safety Xavier McKinney (81 OVR) and LE Dexter Lawrence II (79 OVR). Again, it’s not the scariest defense, but you’ve got something to work with.
