PGA Tour 2K23 has snuck its way onto the ship of video game announcements for 2022 with a short teaser video. The teaser shows a golfer putting with the camera pointing at his legs. At the end of the clip, there’s a reminder that more announcements will come on Monday, August 22.

The covers for PGA Tour 2K23 were revealed as well and will feature 15-time major champion, Tiger Woods on it. There will be a standard and deluxe edition of the game, each with its own unique artwork. Woods himself tweeted out images of the covers.

We don’t all of the details for the game yet, but the teaser clip did offer some new items for MyPLAYERs. In the video, you see the golfer wearing Jordan brand shoes and using a Scotty Cameron putter. Jordan is known the world over for its shoes and apparel while also being named after the great Michael Jordan, of course. The Scotty Cameron putters are iconic as being Woods’ go-to putters throughout his long, decorated career.

An interesting thing of note too is that 2K has managed to nab two of the greatest sports stars of all time to grace the covers of their latest sports games in Jordan and Woods. For PGA Tour 2K23, this also clearly means that Woods will be in the game.

A big question remains though if gamers will be able to play as Woods and the other pros that will be in the game. This is one of the issues players had with PGA Tour 2K21 as it featured pros such as Justin Thomas and Tony Finau but you couldn’t play as them. We’ll see if that changes this time around.

Also, golf courses are always a huge part of the experience in golf games. PGA Tour 2K, going all the way back to its days as The Golf Club in 2014, has always had a course design feature. I don’t see this changing for 2K23. Aside from the always brilliant designer, it will be fun to see which official courses crack the list. 2K21 featured some of the PGA Tour’s most popular TPC courses as well as famed tracks like Riviera Country Club, Quail Hollow, and East Lake.

Aside from being on the covers of the game, Tiger Woods was also mentioned as the Executive Director of the game as well. So it’s likely that he had a big say on what features should be in the game. He supposedly had a similar role in some of the EA Sports PGA Tour games in the past as well. This is definitely a good thing as it provides the developers over at HB Studios a unique perspective.

Monday will be an interesting day as all should be revealed. A new trailer, as well as features, should be on the dinner menu. It’s almost tee time.
