Madden 23: EA Sports is making a very hefty promise

Madden 23 will be released in just a little over two weeks on August 19. If you haven’t gotten the chance to pre-order your copy of Madden 23 yet, you still have time to do so.

Although there’s a lot of hype around this year’s Madden game, there are also concerns that new features and gameplay mechanics will result in more bugs. EA is here to calm your concerns, promising that Madden 23 will be the most polished version of a Madden video game that they have had in a while.

Gameplay Producer Clint Oldenburg stated:

"“We are very confident that our game for Madden 23 is going to be the most polished version of Madden that we’ve had in a long time. What I’m not going to say is it’s going to be perfect, but I am going to say that the team is still striving to reach perfection, as hard as that may be to reach. That is what our goal is. Polish is our top priority, and we know that we cannot reach our goals if our players believe that our game is a buggy experience.”"

I think what Oldenburg said was a perfect statement. Do I expect Madden 23 to have zero problems or bugs in the game? No, I do not.

Should we expect Madden 23 to have zero problems or bugs? No, we should not.

However, why I like this statement so much is that he admits that he has heard all the complaints that fans have had with the Madden franchise in years past. EA Sports is listening to your concerns and working to address them. Because if they don’t, who knows how far the Madden franchise will plummet?

The first step to solving any problem is admitting that there is a problem and Oldenburg recognizes that there were many problems in the past. He didn’t come out and say that even though we created great games in the past we plan on polishing up this year’s game to become even better. Instead, the problem has been identified and the developers have been working hard to fix some of these issues.

Madden 23 has already gone through some changes to improve some of its modes, so we will see exactly how they plan on improving their overall game in just a little over two weeks’ time. Madden 23 may be one of the most polished Madden video games in recent memories if EA holds true to its promise. The answer to that question will be announced in just a couple of more weeks.
