Madden 23 ratings: Predicting the Top 5 Running Backs
Jonathan Taylor (Indianapolis Colts)
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has flashed a ton of potential early on in his career. He’s rushed for 2,980 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first two seasons as a starter.
Last year, he ran for a league-leading 1,811 yards and 18 touchdowns. He tacked on an additional 40 receptions and two touchdown catches.
Jonathan Taylor is just 23 years old and is already widely regarded as the best running back in football heading into the 2022 NFL season. But when it comes to Madden 23, I think he’s got to show a bit more consistency. He’s got to prove he can do this over a number of years before he dethrones a guy like Derrick Henry.
For now, I have him as the second-best running back in Madden 23 but it’s very possible he could supplant Henry if he continues to show improvement. Although Taylor is playing with his third quarterback in as many seasons, Matt Ryan should offer a noticeable improvement over Carson Wentz.
Taylor has enjoyed playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league. But even with the turnover this past offseason, he should be poised for another big year.
Taylor began last season with a mediocre 83 overall rating in Madden 22. But by the end of the year, he climbed all the way to a 92 overall. He was just outside the top five in ratings but was still No. 6 in the game. I think he gets a noticeable bump in Madden 23 and nearly everyone who was ahead of him.
Rating Prediction: 96 Overall
