The Star Wars Universe has really grown over the past handful of years. Not only did Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker close out the Skywalker Saga back in 2019, but we have gotten a lot of great Star Wars TV series as well. These TV series have really opened up fans to many different parts of the Star Wars Universe, including expanding on some of our favorite stories that we already know and love.

Let us also not forget about all the great Star Wars video games that we have gotten along the way as well. Since we know that Lucasfilm doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon, it is rumored Cal Kestis, the main character from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, may be getting his own TV show on Disney+ in the future.

Earlier last month, it was announced that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order would be getting a sequel called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. If you didn’t already know this, these Star Wars video games are canon to the Star Wars Universe. What that means is that these video games connect with the storylines that you see on your TV screens. This means that things that you see happening in the video game can connect to some of your favorite Star Wars TV shows at some point in time and most likely that will be the case.

Kristian Harloff, a Star Wars YouTuber insider, has heard rumblings that a Cal Kestis live-action  TV show may be coming in the future. Cameron Monaghan is the actor who gives Cal Kestis life in his video game role, and he is apparently already signed on to take the lead role on Disney+. If this is true, this would be exciting news. Cal Kestis plays such a big role in Star Wars and to be honest not everyone has gotten to play Star War Jedi: Fallen Order before. A TV series on Disney+ would be a great way to connect the character to a larger audience who hasn’t gotten to watch the Cal Kestis storyline unfold.

As you may already know, the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ TV series just debuted the Season 1 Finale. Both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series are actually very close on the Star Wars timeline. There is no guarantee that an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 will ever actually happen. Deborah Chow, series director of Obi-Wan Kenobi, told Entertainment Tonight, “For this one, we really did conceive it to be a limited series. It really is one big story with a beginning, middle, and end. So, we weren’t thinking past that.”

Given everything that we already know, a Cal Kestis live-action TV show would make the most sense in that it can expend the era that Obi-Wan Kenobi was set in and expand it a little bit more. At the same time, the Cal Kestis TV series obviously wouldn’t revolve around Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it can still build off some of the information that was gained in the TV show and potentially other TV shows.

If Disney is planning on surprising us with this, it most likely won’t be for some time. Even though Cameron Monaghan is already signed on to reprise his role as Cal Kestis, a lot more needs to happen in order to get the ball rolling. There are no production dates as of yet, which is why the show can be a bit of a way away.

I really hope that all of this new information that we are hearing turns out to be true. The Cal Kestis storyline is a really great story and for fans of the Star Wars universe that haven’t gotten to dive into that story yet, they are really into a treat. Cal Kestis’ story will continue with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but hopefully, it also branches out into a Disney+ TV show.
