The Golden State Warriors are the 2022 NBA Champions! The Warriors put on a show with the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Although the Celtics grabbed a 2-1 series lead, the Warriors proved to be too strong, and they battled back to win three in a row and win the series in six games.
Game 6 started out electric for the Boston Celtics until Stephen Curry and the Warriors pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back. The Warriors ended up winning game 6 and the NBA Championship by a final score of 103-90. Now that the 2022 NBA Championship is over, we can focus a little more on what is to come in NBA 2K23 later this year.
Ultimately, it was a group effort by the entire Golden State Warriors team that led them to their fourth Championship in 8 seasons. However, having a healthy Stephen Curry on their roster was a gigantic boost that they used to win the NBA Championship.
Stephen Curry also won the NBA Finals MVP, surprisingly for the first time in his career. You would have thought Curry would at least have had one in his illustrious career.
Now that we have discussed everything that has happened in the present, we can talk about what is to come in the future. NBA 2K23 is right around the corner, likely releasing this September. Let’s talk about ratings.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was the highest-rated player in NBA 2K22 at a 97 overall, but that is because the Milwaukee Bucks won the 2021 NBA Championship. Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most talented players in the NBA, but I do believe an NBA Championship did help his cause to reach a 97 overall by a small margin. With that being said, I believe Stephen Curry is going to have the honor of being the highest-rated player in NBA 2K23.
Stephen Curry is a 96 overall in NBA 2K22 and is currently tied with 4 other players for the second-highest rating in NBA 2K22. With the Golden State Warriors winning the 2022 NBA Championship and Curry winning the 2022 Final MVP, it should be the boost that Curry needs to become the highest-rated player in NBA 2K23.
In this year’s NBA Finals, Curry averaged 31.2 ppg, 6.0 RPG, and 5.0 APG. These are the numbers of a future Hall of Famer and thus he deserves the highest rating in NBA 2K23. Curry is currently only one overall point shy of tying Giannis Antetokounmpo and with the more recent success that Curry has had, 2K will recognize this and we should have a new overall rating leader come September.
The 2021 NBA Championship is eerily similar to the 2022 NBA Championship in relation to the NBA 2K video games. Bucks win 2021 NBA Championship and Giannis Antetokounmpo wins the 2021 Finals MVP. Antetokounmpo goes on to get a 97 overall rating in NBA 2K22. Warriors win 2022 NBA Championship and Stephen Curry wins the 2022 Finals MVP. Curry should go on to get at least a 97 in NBA 2K23.
Now that the 2022 NBA season is officially in the rear-view mirror, there will be lots of news, rumors and leaks that are going to come out regarding NBA 2K23 over the next few months. We still need an official release date, a cover athlete, and even information as to what new things will be featured in this year’s video game. All of these questions should be answered in the coming months.
