Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One new game releases in June 2022
It’s been a quiet couple of months for Xbox in terms of new games — especially on the first-party front. While summer is usually a slow period for game releases, Xbox owners were dealt a heavy blow when Bethesda announced the delay of both Redfall and Starfield.
Redfall was slated to launch this Summer while Starfield was supposed to be a huge holiday blockbuster releasing in November. Now, both Xbox first-party exclusives have been pushed back to 2023, leaving a massive hole this year.
As we turn the page to June, we do have the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, which hopefully should provide some excitement for the future of Xbox and maybe some surprises to look forward to. But in terms of some new games to play on your console, while there is a lack of first-party titles, there are quite a few third-party games coming in June worth getting excited about.
For starters, we’ve got Supermassive Games’ cinematic horror The Quarry coming on June 10th. While I usually prefer my horror games to release in October, the summer camp setting of The Quarry make it a perfect fit for June. You may have played Supermassive’s previous cinematic horror, Until Dawn. This gives off similar vibes. You’ll play as all nine of the camp counselors and “every decision you make and action you take affects how the thrill unfolds.”
Mediatonic’s party royale game Fall Guys is also finally making its debut on Xbox. This has been a smash hit on PC and PlayStation and now we’ll finally get to jump into the party fray. And best of all, it’s going to be free-to-play.
Check out the list of games coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in June:
- Silt – June 1
- Tour de France 22 – June 9
- The Quarry – June 10
- Fall Guys – June 21
- Sonic Origins – June 23
- Deliver Us The Moon – June 23
- Capcom Fighting Collection – June 24
- MX vs ATV Legends – June 28
- Outriders: Worldslayer – June 30

Sonic Origins and Capcom Fighting Collection aren’t exactly new releases but they are new collections of repackaged classics. Sonic Origins features Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD with remastered visuals, added features, and new content and modes.
Capcom Fighting Collection offers 10 of Capcom’s greatest arcade fighting games: Darkstalkers, Night Warriors, Vampire Savior, Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Savior 2, Red Earth, Cyberbots, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Hyper Street Fighter II and Super Gem Fighter Minimix. Each of these games has been updated with new features such as online play with casual, ranked and custom matches, training mode, and display filters as well as quality-of-life improvements like button customization, customizable difficulty and quick save and load.
