Sony hasn’t officially announced its PS Plus lineup for June yet but it seems the lineup may have just leaked. Spanish site Areajugones has the scoop and a bit of history having correctly predicted at least one PS Plus leak in the past.

According to the site, the PlayStation Plus lineup for  June 2022 includes:

  • God of War (2018) – PS4
  • Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker – PS4
  • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl – PS5, PS4

If true, this is a bit of a weird and disappointing lineup. By now, just about everyone has played God of War. Not to mention, it’s also already included in the PS Plus Collection, although that’s only offered on PS5. Giving it to PS4 owners at this point seems a bit redundant.

But maybe its inclusion has more to do with Sony’s larger plan involving God of War Ragnarok. The highly anticipated sequel is on track to launch this year, so maybe Sony is trying to generate some hype leading up to this week’s State of Play.

The State of Play is coming on Thursday, June 2. As the first Tuesday of the month, which is when new PS Plus games drop, isn’t until June 7, Sony could wait until Thursday to officially reveal the PS Plus lineup and then showcase God of War Ragnarok on the livestream. Maybe we’ll even get a release date. I’m not on Sony’s marketing team but it makes sense to me.

As for the other games rumored, Naruto to Boruto: Shinboi Striker is a multiplayer-focused title in which two teams of ninjas fight online to see who is the best. As this is an anime-infused fighter, I’m not sure how much of the mainstream PS Plus audience will appreciate it.

The third and presumably final game included is Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, a Smash Bros. clone featuring characters from various Nickelodeon shows. Despite the popularity of Nickelodeon characters, the game struggled to find a big audience last year. Perhaps coming to PlayStation Plus will revitalize it.

Beyond the lineup of games, June is a significant month as it marks the relaunch of PlayStation Plus with the three-tiered subscription model. God of War is already set to be included as part of the PS Plus Extra tier, further lowering its value as a PS Plus title. The new PS Plus model is expected to go live on June 13. We’ll hopefully get confirmation about these PS Plus games soon.
