Anime series that deserve JRPG games as soon as possible

I know I’m a little late on this one but can we talk about how DBZ Kakarot seems to have opened the door to any anime getting a JRPG game. Here are my top choices for anime that deserve JRPGS.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

I know, I question DBZ because it’s mostly action invested but if you look at the stories for Jojo it’s a lot more globe-trotting, some investigation, and adventure. Additionally, you could make it one big game across all of the generations of the Joestar clan.

Outlaw Star

Another awesome series that gets almost no love at all, but has all the makings for an RPG is Outlaw Star. It’s got a great story, great mystery, awesome action pieces, and an ever-growing crew of protagonists. It would be awesome if they cloned Skies of Arcadia and made ship battles and character battles.

Bleach

Bleach seems like a no-brainer. Why don’t we have a great AAA  Bleach RPG. It’s got a great cast and great action. I think you’re understanding my logic for series that deserve this by now.

Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba

Come on, the fighting game was pretty mediocre but give me an actual RPG where you could explore Japan as Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and whatever Hashira for the arc. Going through the training and every amazing moment. Alright, I’ll stop gushing but come on we need this.

Cowboy Bebop

Ryu Ga Gotoku, you did amazing with Fist of the North Star. Imagine Cowboy Bebop done like a Yakuza game, just go fist fighting through Mars or Venus. Even any other dev but the Yakuza team feels like the perfect call for this one.

My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia took the world by storm and is easily one of my favorite shonen anime. It’s got tons of characters you can choose from for party members and the potential for two stories between the students of UA and the League of Villains. This is once again a no brainer for an RPG.

Berserk

This one is a bit tougher to justify than the others but it’s a necessity. It’d have to be an action RPG. Maybe Fromsoft could use some of the assets from Dark Souls and Elden Ring that were inspired by Berserk, even that gameplay would be perfect for the black swordsman. After the passing of Miura and the last anime series not being great, this could be the second-best way to consume Berserk besides the manga and maybe even be the animated telling it truly deserves.

Honorable Mentions

This will just be a quick list of some that I think deserve their own RPGs or already have them and deserve a new one:

  • Naruto Shippuden – Boruto
  • Inuyasha – Yasahime
  • Dragon ball – kinda cheating but come on kid Goku had great adventures
  • Gundam – pick a series it’ll come out great
  • Rising of the Shield Hero
  • 7 deadly sins

That’s my list. These anime mostly already have games, maybe even mobile RPGs but I’m thinking more of a console RPG. If your favorite anime didn’t make the list I’m sorry and we can all rest knowing One Piece Odyssey will be releasing sometime real soon.
