NHL 22: 98 Overall Milestones HUT Master Items are available now

If you logged into NHL 22 this week and loaded up your NHL 22 Hockey Ultimate Team, you may have noticed that EA Sports has added three 98 Overall players to try and collect as part of their Milestones Master Items. All three players that were added reached remarkable accomplishments in the NHL and are thus being rewarded by getting a 98 Overall player card to try and collect and use in Hockey Ultimate Team.

EA Sports Tweeted the three players that got this honor with those three players being Eric Staal, Jakub Voracek, and Paul Stastny. These three players have been around in the NHL for quite some time and throughout their careers have achieved many memorable accomplishments.

Eric Staal

You may know Eric Staal best when he played for the Carolina Hurricanes. He has had a very successful NHL career.

In his 17-year NHL career, Eric Staal played 12 years with the Carolina Hurricanes. Even though Staal was best known for his time in North Carolina, he has made waves in the NHL for a few other teams, including reaching the Stanley Cup Finals with the Montreal Canadiens during the 2020-21 season.

His accomplishments go further than reaching a Stanley Cup Final as he is an official member of the Triple Gold Club and is the reason why he is featured as one of NHL 22’s 98 Overall Milestones HUT Master Items. Getting into the NHL Triple Gold Club is no easy feat to accomplish. In fact, only 29 players in NHL history can say that they are a part of this club.

In order to get into the Triple Gold Club, you must win a Gold Medal in the Olympics, a World Championship Gold Medal, and a Stanley Cup Championship. Staal achieved each of these feats throughout his illustrious career by winning a Stanley Cup in 2006 with the Carolina Hurricanes, a World Championship with Team Canada in 2007, and a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

While Eric Staal never officially announced his retirement, he never signed an NHL contract after he lost the Stanley Cup Finals to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021. Staal did however sign a PTO to join the Iowa Wild of the AHL. Eric Staal officially enters NHL 22 HUT as a 98 Overall Milestone Master Item.

Jakub Voracek

Jakub Voracek is finally the proud owner of a Silver Stick. An NHL player is awarded a Silver Stick if they reach 1,000 games played in the NHL. Jakub Voracek played his 1,000th game earlier this year with the Columbus Blue Jackets. 370 NHL players have been recipients of a Silver Stick.

Jakub Voracek has had a pretty successful NHL career, to say the least, and he would most likely not have reached 1,000 games played had he not. Voracek will be the second player part of the 98 Overall Milestone Master Items this week in NHL 22 HUT.

Paul Stastny

Paul Stastny is the third and final player that will be entering NHL 22 Hut as one of the 98 Overall Milestone Master Items. Stastny made his debut in the NHL back during the 2006-07 NHL season with the Colorado Avalanche.

Right from when Paul Stastny first hit the ice in his NHL career, he made an impact. Stastny has recorded 28 goals and 50 assists as a rookie in 82 games. To be nearly a point per game as an NHL rookie is something the franchise was more than ecstatic about. Paul Stastny’s rookie season still to this day is the best season he has had in his career, but he has still managed to make an impact each and every year.

This past season,  Stastny was able to compile his 500th assist with the Winnipeg Jets. While Paul Stastny isn’t quite the player scouts may have thought he would have been after his rookie year, he has still done a lot of incredible things for a handful of NHL teams and is now being honored for that this week in NHL 22.

Eric Staal, Jakub Voracek, and Paul Stastny are all available in HUT right now as this week’s 98 Overall Milestone Master Items. These three players have all reached remarkable achievements in the NHL and this is a time for celebration for each of these players.
