Marvel X Fortnite: Zero War comic series will come with free in-game cosmetics

Earlier this year, it was announced that Fortnite is getting another crossover comic book series with the popular Marvel brand. The limited, five-part series, Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War, is set to kick off on June 8 with the release of the first issue.

Ahead of its debut, Marvel has also revealed that each first-print issue of Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War #1-5 will come with a redeemable code that unlocks a free, special Marvel-themed digital cosmetic for use in Fortnite. According to Marvel, readers with a code will be the first to access these digital cosmetics before they become available for purchase in the in-game Fortnite Item Shop. Additionally, it sounds like there will be select in-game items that are exclusive to those who redeemed the codes from Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War first-print comics.

"Not only that, select in-game items will ONLY be available with the redeemable codes from the FORTNITE X MARVEL: ZERO WAR first-print comics."

Marvel hasn’t shared what these cosmetics will look like but did give us an idea of what types of cosmetics will be available with each issue:

  • #1 – Outfit
  • #2 – Warp
  • #3 – Pickaxe
  • #4 – Spray
  • #5 – Loading Screen

What’s more, if you purchase all five issues in the series and redeem the codes, you’ll receive a bonus Outfit.

Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War comes on the heels of the very successful 2020 crossover, Fortnite x Marvel – Nexus War: Thor. The upcoming mini-series, which is written by Marvel veteran Christos Gage (Spider-Geddon, Avengers Academy) and Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard, “follows the inhabitants on the Island who are locked in what seems to be a never-ending war, and only one thing has the potential to turn the tide: a crystallized fragment of the Zero Point that was cast into the Marvel Universe.”

The series will feature the appearance of multiple fan-favorite Marvel heroes including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man and Shuri. These beloved heroes will team up with some of the characters from Fortnite to hunt down the elusive Zero Shard. Art will be done by Sergio Davila (Captain Marvel) with multiple variant covers released from artists Ron Lim and Bill Sienkiewicz.

Both the digital and physical copies of Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War will come with these exclusive codes. The first issue arrives on June 8 and will be available digitally or at your local comic book shop.
