4. Boiled Prawn & Boiled Crab

All this talk is making me hungry. Let’s talk about food! Well, it may not be the best food to talk about. It is a food that is very helpful to have throughout your playthrough of Elden Ring. That food would be Boiled Prawn. If Boiled Prawn doesn’t sound like something you would enjoy, I can almost guarantee you will like it in Elden Ring. Each time you eat a Boiled Prawn, it will boost physical damage negation 60 seconds. The boost is a big boost and makes a really big difference.

In order to acquire Boiled Prawn, it needs to be bought from the Blackguard Big Boggart. The Blackguard Merchant can be found in the Liurnia of the Lakes swamps at the Boilprawn Shack, just north of the Scenic Isle Site of Grace. However, you first need to do a couple things in order to friend him and allow purchases between the two of you.

You are going to have to first find Rya the Scout. Rya can be found right before you get to the Boilprawn Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes. When you speak with her, she goes on and on about how she is looking for her necklace and her necklace was stolen by the Blackguard. This is when you are able to go to the Boilprawn Shack just northwest of Rya. In order to get the necklace back for Rya, you will have to purchase it off of the Blackguard for 1,000 Runes. After the necklace has been purchased off of the Blackguard Merchant, you can talk to him again to purchase Boiled Prawn from him for only 600 Runes.

Once you befriend the Merchant and you buy Boiled Prawn from him, he will eventually moves areas to Leyndell in the outer moat near the Capital Rampart. Go give Rya her necklace and then you can progress to his new location. When the Blackguard Merchant moves, you will notice that if you travel to his new area, he will be next to a bunch of live crabs. This isn’t just a coincidence as he now is apparently using those crabs as one of his new food items that you can purchase. Boiled Crabs are an even better source of food source. The Boiled Crabs will greatly boost your physical damage negation for 60 seconds. The boost from the Boiled Crabs are much greater than the Boiled Prawn so maybe Boiled Crab is what you should be craving? In a game as difficult as Elden Ring, great physical damage negation can really come in handy at some important times.
