1. Jacob deGrom (99 Overall)

Anytime a conversation about pitching surfaces, there is a good chance that Jacob deGrom is brought up.  This is because he is, no doubt, the best pitcher in baseball. He is the only pitcher in MLB The Show 22 that is rated at a 99 overall and with good reason.

Jacob deGrom has so much control over every pitch that he throws even more so than some of the other great pitchers in the MLB today. His fast ball can exceed 100MPH and even his sinker can reach upwards of 93MPH. This is a starting pitcher that is built on deceiving batters with his pure pitching speed.

Jacob deGrom’s career is relatively young as he has only pitched in 8 MLB seasons. The 2022 season will be his ninth. In his relatively short career, deGrom has achieved the title of Rookie of the Year, four-time All-Star, and two-time Cy Young winner. Last season, deGrom only pitched in 15 games due to an injury. However, in those 15 games, deGrom managed to go 7-2 with a 1.08 ERA. If deGrom never got injured, there was reason to believe that he could have potentially finished out the year with an ERA of less than 1.00. It is actually crazy to think about.
