In both Major League Baseball and MLB The Show 22, pitching is perhaps the most important aspect in baseball. Even the best offenses can run cold in October and great pitching will keep you in most games.

It is always fun to try and predict which pitchers are going to be the best in MLB The Show 22 before the game has officially been released. You can sometimes get a general idea on how pitchers are going to be coming into an upcoming season based on last season’s statistics and last year’s game overalls. If you put two and two together, you can come to a good conclusion as to who will be the best in the new MLB The Show video game.

Luckily, there is no need to predict any longer. MLB The Show 22 has been out for over a week now and we now know who the best five starting pitchers are in the video game. There are five pitchers that really go above and beyond to really give their team the best chance of winning when they step foot on the mound. Whether you just want to play online and use some of these pitchers or if you want to collect any of these pitchers for your Diamond Dynasty team, they will always give you a great chance of limiting the opposing offense the best.

5. Clayton Kershaw (93 Overall)

This wouldn’t be a top five list without at least one Los Angeles Dodgers player on it now, would it? Clayton Kershaw has been one of the best pitchers in the MLB since he came into the league in 2008. He has spent his whole career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and was really their best pitcher for most of his time on his team. However, as Kershaw has gotten older, he kind of lost his mojo as his statistics have slightly elevated a bit.

Clayton Kershaw is still a great pitcher. Nothing can take away what he has accomplished in the Majors throughout his career. He has a total of 3 NL Cy Young Awards, 3 seasons of a less than 2.00 ERA, and the most prestigious accomplishment that every baseball player dreams of winning in a World Series ring.

Kershaw’s best span of his career came from 2011-2017 when during that time frame had three seasons with a 1.83 ERA or lower. The highest ERA he ever had in his career during the 2011-2017 time frame was a 2.53 ERA which is absolutely amazing. Not to mention that Kershaw has a 2.49 career ERA over his 14 year career. 2022 will mark his 15th year in the MLB.

The only thing about Kershaw’s career that has been shaky is when it comes time for the MLB Playoffs. He has a 4.19 career ERA.

Kershaw has a really good pitching arsenal, and he is definitely a pitcher you would want to pitch with when it comes to MLB The Show 22.
