Clash of Clans Spring 2022 update needs more time as Supercell offers cryptic teaser

Supercell has offered an update on the Spring 2022 update for Clash of Clans, telling fans they need “a bit more time” before they begin the sneak peeks. And while the Spring update is usually the largest of the year, the developer call this one “different.”

Here’s the teaser tweet Supercell shared with fans today:

Unfortunately, this tweet was met by even more impatience among the player base who have been waiting for months. Naturally this sparked even more questions and speculation. The wildest one I’ve seen online is theories that the update could actually introduce Clash of Clans.

While the Spring update is usually the largest of the year, it sounds like this one could be potentially game-changing. And probably in a larger way than just a new Town Hall or some new troop types. But a sequel to Clash of Clans? I highly doubt that. People have just invested too much time and money into Clash of Clans.

I’m thinking this is going to be more of a graphical overhaul, updating the menus, character and building models, combat effects and other styles. It’s possible some of the game’s older gameplay mechanics could also be tweaked or updated. But we’re almost certainly not getting a full-fledged sequel.

With Clash of Clans approaching its 10-year anniversary, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Supercell go massive with the first update of the year. The question is just how big will they go? And when will we finally see it?

It seems that Supercell has invited some of the largest players and influencers in the Clash of Clans community to check out what’s coming. If there is some sort of press event taking place this week, then it’s possible that sneak peeks could begin next week or maybe even the week after. If that turns out to be the case, then the Spring 2022 update for Clash of Clans could arrive in late April or early May.
