Future players that should get a 99 overall rating in MLB The Show 22

When you take a look at all the players in the MLB, you can see how much talent there truly is. Some players are ranked higher than you expect, some players are ranked lower than you expect, and some players are rated just as you would expect them to be rated. However, I truly believe that there are two players (maybe three) in MLB The Show 22 that I can see being a 99 overall in the very near future.

The three players I am hinting at are Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Aaron Judge, and Max Scherzer. I will touch on Max Scherzer first because I think he may be the least likely to do it, but it is still possible.

Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer is not getting any younger. The 37-year-old pitcher has been in the MLB since 2008. He currently sits as the second highest overall pitcher in MLB The Show 22 at a 97 overall. Max Scherzer has had a Hall of Fame career, no doubt about it. However, the older Scherzer gets, the less lethal he will become. Father time doesn’t pass up on anyone. If he isn’t a 99 overall in MLB The Show 22 now, it is going to take a really good year on the New York Mets to get him to that plateau. That is something that is always possible and thus why I felt like he needed to be included on this list.

Aaron Judge

The man that I think has the second-best chance to get to a 99 overall would be Aaron Judge. Judge packs a lot of power when he hits. There is nothing better when you can expect one of the best players on your team to come up and always think there is a chance the ball leaves the ballpark. I mean this man hit 52 home runs just back in 2017. That is something that you don’t see too often in the modern day MLB. Aaron Judge is already a 96 overall and is only a few overall points away from joining the 99 club. I would not be shocked in Aaron Judge achieves that feat very soon.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The player I think that has the best chance to join the 99 club is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. I believe that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. can be debated as the best hitter in the MLB. 2022 is only going to be his fourth season in the Majors. Just last year as a 22-year-old, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. belted out 48 home runs and smacked in a whopping 111 RBIs. The kid is just turning 23 now and already has himself a 96 overall. After the performance he had last year and how important he is to the Toronto Blue Jays, I am shocked he isn’t a 99 overall to begin MLB The Show 22. The Toronto Blue Jays are a great team and when you got an elite player like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on a great team like the Blue Jays, that definitely catches the eyes of the people behind these MLB The Show 22 ratings.
