MLB The Show 22: Which players should be rated 99 overall
If you are an athlete, of course you want to be rated a 99 overall in any sports video game. This means that you are the best of the best when it comes to that sport and who doesn’t want to be the best? It is a very hard task to achieve and only a select few players over the various sports video games get the honor to call them self a 99 overall athlete. It is so rare to the point where MLB The Show 22 only features three players that get to have that honor. All three players have proven over the years that they are worthy and their skill on the baseball field demonstrates as to why these athletes get to have the highest video game honor.
99 overall club in MLB The Show 22
As I stated before there are only three players in the entire MLB that are rated a 99 overall player. These players are New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom, Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout, and Atlanta Braves center fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. All three of these players are so dynamic and influential that they really can turn the tides of games in their favor in each of their own different ways.
When Jacob deGrom is on the mound for the New York Mets, the Mets chances of winning skyrockets. His team knows that anytime he is pitching, the offense better come out to play because once deGrom is pitching with a lead, it is very hard to overcome for the opponents. Each and every year deGrom comes in and pitches like he is Mr. Unhittable. Jacob deGrom will be playing in his 9th season this year. Throughout his first 8 seasons, deGrom has only ever had one season where he had a win-loss of below .500. Not to mention his career ERA is 2.50. We will have to wait and see how 2022 treats him, but I am sure there won’t be any surprises.
As for Mike Trout and Ronald Acuna Jr., no pitcher likes facing these two. While Mike Trout isn’t on the best team in baseball or MLB The Show 22, he has been the best player in baseball for many years. The 2022 MLB season will be Trout’s 12th year in the Majors. Not including this year, since it just got underway, Mike Trout is a 9-time All-Star. If you don’t include 2022 or 2011, because he only played in 40 games, He is a 9-time All-Star in 10 full seasons. Trout’s Career batting average is .305 and he is not doubt going into the Hall of Fame.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is a different story because of how young he is. Out of the three players mentioned on this list, he will only be playing in his fifth MLB Season in 2022. It is still very early in his career to make assumptions on him, but if he stays healthy and keeps up the pace, he has shown Atlanta Braves fans, this man can definitely be a future Hall of Famer. Injuries have been a problem for Ronald Acuna Jr. which is actually a shame. Fans are getting cheated from watching this elite baseball player play baseball in the prime of his career. I know that when Ronald Acuna Jr. is healthy, there aren’t many better hitters in the MLB to do what he does.
Now that we talked about the three players that are currently a 99 overall in MLB The Show 22, the question presents itself that are there any players in the MLB who can be making their way into the 99 overall club in the future? The answer is pretty simple. The answer is yes.
