4. New York Mets

If you were reading this article last year, the New York Mets would not have taken a spot on this list. They had a very disappointing season. The New York Mets finished with a record of 77-85. They couldn’t even finish above .500, but that is all in the past as they have made some big off season moves to get a spot on this list.

The New York Mets have easily one of the best starting pitching rotations in all of baseball, if not the best. They already have the best starting pitcher in baseball in Jacob deGrom. And while deGrom is injured in real life, he’s health in MLB The Show 22 where he checks in with a 99 overall.

During the offseason, the Mets have decided that having Jacob deGrom would not be enough for their starting pitching rotation. So, they decided to go out and sign Max Scherzer, another top five pitcher in the MLB. Scherzer is a 97 overall and really helps clamp down on their elite starting pitching rotation. They also went out and got Chris Bassitt, who is going to help an already stacked pitching rotation have a little more reliability.

Pitching is not all that the New York Mets have. Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, Eduardo Escobar, and Mark Canha are all going to potent players in the Mets offensive lineup and on defense. So, whether or not you need good pitching to make sure that you are rarely playing from behind or you need a big hit late in the game, the New York Mets roster is built around not playing from behind and getting those key hits from their offense when needed.
