Kamisato Ayato is an exciting new Hydro Sword character introduced in Genshin Impact 2.6. He’s a versatile unit both on field and off, and has a few builds that can explore any role you need him for. Here are the best Kamisato Ayato builds, complete with weapon and artifact choices.

Genshin Impact: The best Kamisato Ayato builds

There’s a large variety of great Swords to give Ayato, depending on whether you want him on-field auto-attacking or off-field dealing damage with his Elemental Burst.

Ayato’s event weapon, Haran Geppaku Futsu, is his best weapon for either build. It gives a generic Elemental Damage buff, but also a massive buff to Normal Attacks after other characters use their own Elemental Skills.

Ayato Weapons: On-field DPS

Look for aggressive weapons that focus on Attack or Crit for DPS Ayato. Mistsplitter Reforged is the best five-star weapon for this, but Summit Shaper and Primordial Jade Cutter are also fantastic. Summit Shaper in particular is great when Ayato is paired with Thoma.

The Battle Pass’s The Black Sword is a cheaper premium option that buffs Ayato’s Normal Attacks and his CRIT Rate. The Item Shop’s Royal Longsword and Blackcliff Longsword are also great premium choices.

The Flute is a weird weapon with an Attack% sub-stat that deals extra damage when Normal attacking.

For free-to-play friendly options, the craftable Amenoma Kageuchi is a sword that hybridizes Ayato’s kit. It gives a large amount of Attack, and restores Energy after using Elemental Skills.

Ayato Weapons: Off-field Support

Support Ayato wants Energy Recharge to have his Elemental Burst up at all times. The five-star Skyward Blade has Recharge as a sub-stat and buffs Crit Rate, too. When the wielder uses their Elemental Burst, their Attack Speed gets faster and their Normal and Charged Attacks deal additional damage.

Sacrificial Sword and Favonius Sword are the standard Support weapons that both have Energy Recharge as the sub-stat. Sacrificial Sword has a chance to reset the cooldown of Elemental Skills when they hit, and Favonius Sword has a chance to generate particles when a Crit is landed.

Ayato Artifacts

The Artifacts you need for Ayato are pretty straight forward. Ayato has some additional scaling from his HP, but you’re usually better off focusing on the usual DPS spread of Attack% on the Sands, Hydro Damage on the Goblet and Crit Rate/Damage on the Circlet. For support builds, use an Energy Recharge Sands if you need it.

The additional bonus damage from his HP makes it worthwhile to fully level up his Flower, and adds some value back to HP sub-stats.

4 Echoes of An Offering

New in 2.6 is the Echoes of An Offering set, which seems to be made for Ayato. Two pieces give an 18% Attack buff, just like some other sets. The full Echoes of An Offering set gives a 36% chance to trigger a huge 70% Attack Normal Attack damage increase on the next Normal hit. If it doesn’t trigger, the chance increases by 20%. When it does trigger, the effect is cleared.

This set is best for an on-field DPS build.

4 Heart of Depth

The two piece Heart of Depth grants a 15% Hydro Damage bonus while the four-piece bonus increases Normal and Charged Attack Damage by 30% for 15 seconds after using an Elemental Skill. This is also a great set for on-field Ayatos.

4 Noblesse Oblige

The definitive off-field support set. Two pieces of Noblesse Oblige give a 20% Elemental Burst damage buff, while four pieces give a 20% Attack buff to your entire team after Ayato uses his Burst.

The caveat here is that the four-piece bonus does not stack, so it’s a “one-per-team” situation for Noblesse.

5 Biggest things in Genshin Impact 2.6. light. More

2 Heart of Depth / 2 Echoes of An Offering or 2 Gladiator’s Finale or 2 Shimenawa’s Reminiscence or 2 Vermillion Hereafter

The title is long, but this combination is easy to pull off as Echoes of An Offering, Gladiator’s Finale, Shimenawa’s Reminiscence and Vermillion Hereafter all have the same two-piece bonus of 18% Attack. Pick whichever set has the best sub-stats.

Combined with the 15% Hydro Damage bonus from Heart of Depth, it makes for a flexible build for a mixed DPS Ayato and is great for Burst Support builds as well.

Pick two: 2 Heart of Depth / 2 Noblesse Oblige / 2 Echoes of An Offering or 2 Gladiator’s Finale or 2 Shimenawa’s Reminiscence or 2 Vermillion Hereafter

If you want to specialize this build for off-field Burst damage, replace one two-piece set with Noblesse Oblige for a 20% Burst damage buff. If your sub-stats favor Attack, replace the 18% Attack buff. If not, Noblesse’s buff is stronger than the 15% Hydro Damage if you’re just using Ayato’s Burst.
