GTA+: Everything you need to know about GTA Online’s new membership program
Rockstar Games announced today GTA+, an all-new membership program exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of GTA Online. Here’s everything we know about it so far, including the price, launch date and exclusive benefits for those who subscribe.
What’s included with GTA+?
In short, GTA+ will provide members with exclusive rewards each month. Every month will feature a new set of rewards, including in-game GTA$ and RP bonuses, special vehicle upgrades, exclusive properties, and member-only discounts. Rockstar also mentioned the ability to “unlock gameplay updates you may have missed out on,” suggesting previous limited-time content may become accessible with GTA+. Additionally, GTA+ members will receive GTA$500,000 every month.
GTA+ launch date and pricing
GTA+ is set to launch on March 29, exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of GTA Online. It will cost $5.99 per month and can be purchased via the PlayStation Store for PS5 or Microsoft Store for Xbox Series X|S.
First month of rewards revealed
Rockstar has already revealed the first month of rewards you will receive through GTA+, giving us a good indication of the value of this new membership program. In addition to the GTA$500,000, members will also receive the following:
- The Principe Deveste Eight before its made available for purchase to the public (plus HSW Orange Trip and HSW CMYK Glitch Liveries)
- Gameplay updates from the Los Santos Tuners available at the Auto Shop in La Mesa
- LS Car Meet Mebership fees waived
- Free upgrade to the Aquarius Super Yacht
- Free Gusset Frog Tee and Broker Porlaps Basketball Top and Shorts
- Conveyor Livery for the Mammoth Avenger, HVY APC and TM-02 Khanjali
- Free paints and emblems for the Auto Shop
- 3X GTA$ and RP on Hao’s Special Works Race Series
- 2X Car Meet Rep on Street Race Series
So that’s all the rewards set for the first month of Membership, which runs from March 29 through April 27. Grand Theft Auto Online isn’t the first multiplayer game to receive this sort of subscription plan. Both Fortnite and Fallout 76 offer players a similar type of membership that always provides premium content. It’s worth noting that GTA+ is half the price of Fortnite Crew and Fallout 1st.
The announcement of GTA+ has been met with mixed reception. I look at it no differently than a battle pass which you buy every couple of weeks and unlock content by playing the game and achieving goals. Only with this, you get the content upfront with no additional work required.
