Madden 22: Superbowl LVI players that may get a ratings boost
It is hard to believe that the Superbowl is already here. Superbowl LVI will take place on Sunday, February 13 and mark the 56th anniversary of one of the most prized championships in sports.
The Big Game will feature the Cincinnati Bengals playing the Los Angelas Rams at Sofi Stadium. Interesting enough, this will be the second time in NFL history that a team will get to play at home in the Superbowl and it has now happened in back-to-back seasons. Madden 22 has already had their yearly Superbowl prediction and it is time to see if what they predicted will come true.
Given the magnitude of Superbowl LVI and how much EA usually relates their player ratings with how well teams/athletes do during the season, there is a good chance that we may see some ratings boosts following the conclusion of Superbowl LVI.
How can Superbowl LVI affect the Los Angeles Rams in Madden 22?
If you take a look at the Los Angeles Ram’s roster in Madden 22, you will notice that their players on offense don’t really have the highest overall ratings. The LA Rams have 2 players that are currently part of the Madden 99 Club, with those players being Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. The Rams offense is really where the Madden 22 ratings take a massive downward turn.
Cooper Kupp is an absolute beast and is mainly the reason why he is rated a 97 overall. Kupp is able to run fantastic routes and get into open field even when the defender appears to be guarding him. He is also one of the best receivers in the NFL after he catches the football because tackling him is not so much of an easy task to accomplish. However, after you go further down the list of players after Cooper Kupp, the ratings dip well into the mid to low 80s for their players. Here are some notable players on the Los Angeles Rams who don’t have that high of a Madden 22 rating:
- Odell Beckham Jr. (86 Overall)
- Robert Woods (86 Overall)
- Tyler Higbee (84 Overall)
- Matthew Stafford (83 Overall)
- Cam Akers (82 Overall)
- Sony Michel (77 Overall)
Upon first glance, you will see some notable players for the LA Rams who are massive pieces to this LA Rams offense with lower than usual ratings. The players that are listed above have proven over the last month of the NFL Playoffs that they are able to sway games into their favor and make it where they have a better chance of winning football games. The Los Angeles Rams didn’t make it to Superbowl LVI by luck, but they made it because they have a very high-powered offense that give some of the best defenses in the league trouble.
Everyone on the Rams roster during Superbowl LVI will be there to try and make an impact in order to help them win the game. Matthew Stafford can very well be the MVP of the Superbowl, has been one of the main reasons why the Rams offense has been so explosive, and he still only has an 83 overall rating in Madden 22. I would not be shocked to see a variety of different players on the Rams see some sort of ratings boost after the conclusion of Superbowl LVI.
