Ganyu can hit the highest damage numbers in the game, provided you have the right equipment for her. Here are the best Weapons and Artifacts for a variety of Ganyu builds.

Genshin Impact Ganyu Builds

Ganyu Weapons

Ganyu’s damage scaling is enormous, so you’ll want to look out for weapons with high base Attack and Attack% as its sub-stat. Just about any five-star Bow will be good on her, except Elegy for the End.

Her best weapon is the five-star

Amos’ Bow

, with both the high base Attack you expect from a five-star Bow and Attack% as a sub-stat. It’s passive effect increases Normal and Charged Attacks by 12%, and increases them by another 8% every 0.1 seconds the arrow flies. It’s the best choice for the “sniper” build that Ganyu excels with.

Thundering Pulse, Skyward Harp and Polar Star are also great choices, with abilities that buff Attack damage and Crit stats.

Thankfully, there are two great craftable four-star options in Prototype Crescent and Hamayumi. Both are easy to Refine and get stronger the more you do. They have identical base Attack and the same Attack% sub-stat.

Prototype Crescent’s passive ability triggers when you score a shot on a weak point. If you hit a headshot you get a 10% Movement Speed increase and a 36% Attack increase. This Attack buff is doubled at Refinement 5.

It’s useless on some enemies and Bosses, but when it works it’s her strongest four-star option. The Movement Speed buff even lets you strafe enemies and dodge their attacks.

Hamayumi gives a 16% Normal Damage increase and a 12% Charged Attack Damage increase at Refinement 1, going up to 32% and 21% respectively at max Refinement. When your Energy is full, this bonus doubles. Hamayumi disincentivizes using Ganyu’s Burst.

The Item Shop’s Blackcliff Warbow features high base Attack and Crit Damage as its sub-stat. The passive ability at Refinement 1 gives 12% Attack after an enemy is defeated for 30 seconds, up to three times. it

The three-star Messenger and Sharpshooter’s Oath both provide Crit Damage and have abilities that trigger when you hit a weak point. Messenger deals an additional 100% Attack damage when you hit a weak point, and Sharpshooter’s Oath increases damage against weak points by 24%. They both have low base stats, but are easy to Refine.

Ganyu Artifacts

There are several different sets that work for Ganyu. Which one you choose will depend mainly on how you want to play her. Her main and sub-stats will be more important to focus on, so you may wish to pick the set you have better Artifacts for already.

As for stats, you’ll want Attack% on the Sands, Cryo Damage on the Goblet and Crit Damage on the Circlet. Look for Attack%, Crit Damage and Crit Rate in the sub-stats.

Crit Damage is better on Ganyu than Crit Rate, as shots on weak points count as Crits. Ganyu’s first Ascension Passive Talent buffs the Crit Rate of each Frostflake Arrow you fire after the first, and with some Artifacts you’ll have no problem hitting Crits even on enemies without weak points. Ganyu also gains Crit Damage as her Ascension stat.

Wanderer’s Troupe

A late game free-to-play option, Wanderer’s Troupe pieces are rewarded when you defeat Bosses. Two pieces of this give 80 Elemental Mastery, great for reverse-Melt comps. The four-piece bonus increases Charged Attack Damage by 35% if the wearer uses a Bow or Catalyst.

Blizzard Strayer

This set makes building Ganyu easy. The two-piece bonus is a 15% Cryo Damage increase, and the four-piece increases Crit Rate against enemies affected by Cryo by 20%. It then adds another 20% if the enemy is Frozen. With Ganyu’s Passive Talent, you automatically have 40% Crit Rate. With Ganyu’s 88.4% Crit Damage that comes from her Ascension, it’s already an optimized Crit ratio.

This is a great set if you want to use Ganyu against Bosses.

Shimenawa’s Reminiscence

Two pieces of Shimenawa’s Reminiscence give 15% Attack. The four-piece gives a massive 50% Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack damage increase for 10 seconds after casting an Elemental Skill. This ability needs the character to have at least 15 Energy, which it will drain.

Ganyu’s Elemental Skill is a great spacing and grouping tool, so be sure to start your rotations with it. Take note that this set has negative synergy with Hamayumi.

Retracing Bolide

There’s nothing more annoying than being hit while aiming an arrow and losing your charge. To get around this, Shields are a great support ability to pair with Ganyu. Two pieces of Retracing Bolide gives an additional 35% Shield Strength, and the four-piece bonus gives a whopping 40% Normal and Charged Attack damage increase when the wearer is protected by a Shield.
