Pokemon Sword and Shield to give out Shiny Galarian Legendary Birds
The Pokemon Company is going to be hosting a series of three online tournaments over the next several months. Each of the three will be offering a free shiny Galarian form of a legendary bird.
“Oh, but I’m not good at the online competitions,” I hear you say. “But Eric, I don’t have a strong team set up,” you cry out. “Oh no, the entire online competition is completely destroyed by people using hacked Pokemon in Master Balls with perfect IVs that are shiny, and playing online competitions is moot outside of a professional level because it’s all a destroyed wasteland of cheaters.” Well, you’re not wrong but guess what, these shiny birds? They’re participation prizes! Yup. You only have to play three matches to get it, and you don’t even have to win any.
The three contests are going to take place at different times so get ready to open up your calendar app and get these times in there.
The 2022 International Challenge in February requires you to register between February 3 and February 17. The tournament itself runs from the 18 through 20. And the prize for competing in three rounds is the shiny, Galarian form of Articuno. An Articuno whose color scheme is made of light blues similar to the original Articuno.
The 2022 International Challenge in March requires you to register between February 24 through March 10. Battles will take place between March 11 and March 13. The prize for competing in three rounds is the shiny, Galarian form of Zapdos (my personal favorite). This Zapdos loses its normal dark orange coloring for a light yellow similar to the original Zapdos. At this point, I think you can guess what the Moltres is gonna look like.
The 2022 International Challenge in April requires you to register between March 31 and April 14. The tournament itself takes place betwixt April 15 and April 17. And the participation prize for this one is the shiny, Galarian form of Moltres. And instead of the dark black and bold pinkish color scheme, it’s the light yellow-red color scheme of the original Moltres.

So make sure you set reminders. But alarms in your phone, tell Alexa, write on a physical wall calendar like the Luddite you are. But remember these dates because with Pokemon Legends Arceus out in less than two weeks it’s probably your last chance to grab these guys for a good long while.
