I think everyone has been on the edge of their seats since the announcement that a new College Football video game is in development. While we haven’t officially gotten a release date on that video game yet, Madden 22 has added a new, but familiar game mode that gives sports fans a little taste of what is coming in the future. Campus Legends is being added into Madden 22 once again, and the reason I say familiar game mode is because this will now be the third time the Campus Legends event has made its way into Madden 22.

The previous two times that the event has come into the game it featured the NCAAF teams Clemson, LSU, Texas, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas and USC. The difference this time around is that Ohio State and Alabama are now going to be two more teams that you will be able to play Campus Legends with for a total of 13 teams.

Campus Legends isn’t a game mode that lets you play with the current full college team roster, but rather a roster that is made up of NFL players who used to play on their respective college team in the past.

For example, with the addition of Ohio State into the video game we can most likely expect to see Justin Fields, Ezekiel Elliott, and Chase Young on the team since each of them have played there before. Plus, all three are featured on the Campus Legends announcement graphics that the official Madden 22 twitter page released. As far as Alabama goes, you can probably expect to see Najee Harris, Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, and Mark Ingram since they are all Alabama alumni who currently play in the NFL.

This event is a very unique event because it combines college with the pros, while still keeping Madden 22 solely an NFL video game. You can call it an appetizer before the real entree comes in the form of the next College Football video game. It is a fun way to give fans a taste of a new college video game while none of the players on the team are current college players. It is an overall great marketing move by EA Sports.

We can only assume that the previous 11 teams will also be playable in Campus Legends once again because I would find it odd that this event would only feature Alabama vs Ohio State. With that being said, expect a total of 13 teams to play as and put some of the best college athletes in the NFL up against each other. Most of these athletes never gotten the chance to play against each other in college due to all their different ages, but this is going to be the third opportunity to see these dream matchups come to life.

Something else that should be noted is that this game mode will also not likely be permanent. The previous two times that Campus was added into Madden 22, it was only a limited time for roughly a few weeks. Ohio State and Alabama will both be available to play once Campus Legends makes its return on January 14. This is something that if you are interested in playing, to play it as soon as you can so you don’t end up missing anything.
