Mario Kart 9 may be teased for this year with new twist
Mario is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time. The franchise has released tons of different video games, but some of the most well-known Mario games are the Mario Kart installments.
Mario Kart 8 was released almost 8 years ago, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released 5 years. Both games have been great selling points for Nintendo and have done great with marketing for the Nintendo Switch. However, it looks like Nintendo may be moving on from Mario Kart 8 with new reports that Mario Kart 9 is currently in development.
Dr. Serkan Toto, a video games consultant at GamesIndustry.biz, gave everyone an inside scoop about Nintendo currently working on Mario Kart 9. This is massive news regarding Nintendo because the Mario Kart franchise sells so well, and we are overdue for a new installment.
Dr. Serkan Toto said in a statement:
"“I am aware that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still selling very well on the Nintendo Switch, but Mario Kart 9 is in active development (and comes with a new twist) and Nintendo could tease it this year.”"
If what Toto is saying is true, we can potentially get a sneak peek at this year’s E3. That also opens to possibility to seeing a teaser for Mario Kart 9 at any one of Nintendo’s video game showcases throughout the course of 2022. However, just because we may get a teaser for Mario Kart 9 this year, does mean that the game would be released this year.
Dr. Serkan Toto also said in his statement that Mario Kart 9 will include some sort of new twist. This does not surprise me as Nintendo always likes to throw some sort of new twist in all their Mario Kart video games. After all, it wouldn’t be a new game if Nintendo kept all their mechanics the same. There is no exact news on what that new twist might be, but the video game community is already starting to come up with tons of ideas on what Nintendo may throw our way.
The Mario Kart franchise caters to not only hardcore video game fans, but casual gamers as well. These types of video games are the perfect games to play with the entire family and if this game somehow gets released in 2022, it will be a massive holiday seller. At the moment I am not getting my hopes up regarding a release, but I am getting my hopes up regarding some sort of official teaser on Mario Kart 9.

One thing is for sure. The Mario franchise is not going nowhere anytime soon. Nintendo has been relatively quiet lately and that could be because they plan on dropping the Mario Kart 9 blockbuster news on the community in the near future.
